I pretty much ignored Child of Light because I assumed Ubisoft would be charging over $100(NZD) for it, pleasantly surprised with the actual price and I'll buy it in the next week or two.

Nintendo first party games normally go up on midnight, right? Because I need my Mario Golf fix as soon as possible tomorrow night.

The eShop crawler says Mario Golf and Kirby are midnight launches.

I thought they were using a poll to decide which Mega Man game they sold first. I'm kind of surprised Xtreme won. Its a pretty good game, but not Mega Man IV or V good.

What the gently caress? America gets Mario Golf 3DS for half the price of the UK? That is horseshit.

I woke up today to find that Rusty's Real Deal Baseball had been put on my 3DS by Nintendo. Did they just distribute the game to everyone who hadn't downloaded it yet? Also: UltimoDragonQuest posted:The eShop crawler says Mario Golf and Kirby are midnight launches. What is this eShop crawler? Is it a site or program that scrapes the eShop and lists all the current and future releases in a sensible manner? I'd really appreciate something that could notify me the moment that Shantae and the Pirate's Curse was available.

There is a news crawler on the bottom of the top screen when you're in the 3DS eshop.

The Denpa Men 3 demo has been pushed back to next week for NA, due to 'technical issues'. PAL users should be able to get it, though. In other news, here is the schedule for the Mega Man VC releases: 1/05: Mega Man Xtreme 8/05: Mega Man II and III 15/05: Mega Man IV 22/05: Mega Man V 29/05 Mega Man Xtreme 2

Oh, so they are going in order for the rest of the games. So we'll get the worst one and a better one on the same week. Followed by the really good ones.

I'm at work, so I'm trying out downloading Kirby 3D by tethering my 3DS to my phone. We'll see how this goes (it probably won't). [Edit: It got to 12% and then my phone lost LTE. I forced it into LTE mode but it wouldn't download anymore. Restarting the download now, we'll see if it works.] [Edit 2: 75% a few minutes later. I'm pretty sure T-Mobile's LTE is faster than my home internet ] [Edit 3: Wait, it actually worked. Not at all what I expected.] asecondduck fucked around with this message at 08:00 on May 2, 2014 |

It's great to see the Eurozone getting a hookup every once in a while, but I didn't pay attention enough to notice that I won't be getting Mario Golf GBC for free here in the States for buying Mario Golf 3DS.

Maybe your home internet provider is throttling Nintendo's eShop and that's why your phone was faster.

OTOH, Mario Golf costs almost twice as much over here as it does in the US (40€ vs. $30).

I remember them attempting the same thing with the Netflix client a few months back, which was weird because the Netflix client had been out for AGES already. The gently caress is going on here

If you select the icon, you can decline to download the game, and remove the icon instantly.

And you can turn off downloading recommended software in your settings. I believe you're even prompted about that too.

irlZaphod posted:Do they think we can't see how much stuff costs in other countries? They know that but it's not like many people will buy the American version instead, and if someone was going to buy it they're probably not going to stop because it is cheaper in another country - they'll just buy it and complain about it. It's really crap from a consumer point of view, but I can't see it changing for a while, especially when they've got region locks in place which makes it more difficult to take advantage of regional differences in prices.
