I'm assuming that the actual article will be about how Online is the last true bastion where people can harass women, and shout racial slurs at strangers with the same risk-free abandon that we could back in the good old days about 30 years before anybody involved in this story was born. Hilariously, near subversively repellant image. Why is our white hero chubby? why is his girlfriend who is less interesting than his halo match wearing uggs? "Because it is lovely" is an obvious, but somewhat odd answer for a magazine cover in favor of.

From ""Video Games Every Libertarian MUST Play!": quote:Papers, Please: Indie game Papers, Please puts players in the role of a customs official in a fictional Eastern European country. Players must analyze the paperwork of each person attempting to pass through a border checkpoint. As the game progresses, the paperwork review process grows more complicated. At first passports are enough, but soon documents like work visas, entry permits, and immunization records also require examination. There are bribes, and special exemptions for diplomats, and wrenching personal stories from potential immigrants. It's all timed. Failure means fines. At the end of each day, players return home to ration the pittance earned on food, rent, heat, and sometimes medicine for the family. Bring home too little, and you'll watch them die off.

You didn't post the best one.quote:Bioshock: Players fight their way through the ruins of an Art Deco underwater city set up as a kind of sci-fi anarchist utopia—where biological modification is plentiful, looters are treated as scum, and the pursuit of individual desire and accomplishment is considered life’s most noble goal. The villain is clearly intended as a riff on Ayn Rand’s super-individualists, but in a mid-game twist, he shows he’s not simply a bad guy. The revelation elevates Bioshock from satirical, action-driven homage to Rand into a clever riff on the perception of individual freedom and the nature of choice. At least he says its satirical, but that's putting it really lightly - the entire game takes the piss out of Ayn Rand. Wonder no more, I just did 80 hours of research: quote:Reason is the monthly print magazine of "free minds and free markets." It covers politics, culture, and ideas through a provocative mix of news, analysis, commentary, and reviews. Reason provides a refreshing alternative to right-wing and left-wing opinion magazines by making a principled case for liberty and individual choice in all areas of human activity. "Blah, blah, blah, we claim to be Libertarians when in actuality we're carrying water for the ultra right GOP who wants Friedmanite free markets and corporate serfdom to rule over all. Because gently caress representative government." I think your right, there must be some sliver of irony to the cover, but not as much as an actual reasoned person (like the New Yorker's cover showing the Obamas sharing a Terrorist Fist Bump). Edit: Ahaha, I'm a naive fool. I may have called it without ever finding, "Video Games Every Libertarian MUST Play!" but I held on to hope that some part of the publication was ironic. I don't mean to be insulting in any way to anyone else who shared my hesitance to pass a snap judgement, but there it is. Thank you, Von Sloneker, I can now gouge my eyes and/or brain out. That cover art is hilarious, and Reason is a garbage rag, but hell it's fair to give the douches credit for not being anti-video games. I'm not sure if he's in that category, but Ed Schulz was bitching about GTA5 on one of his programs back when it came out, and that's quite disappointing. And is this article about tax breaks for the gaming industry true? http://reason.com/reasontv/2014/05/06/tax-breaks-for-game-makers-epic-fail I can't believe video games are more subsidized the oil or financial industry.
