Stalin refers to himself as "the man who made Mother Russia his bitch". Fair enough, "Mother Russia" is a common nickname for the country, and he certainly ruled it with an iron fist. And considering this is Stalin talking, one wonders what horrors he might be referring to...

A little searching reveals that "The Nunnery" was a 15000+ page forum thread about fetishes, porn, and orgies. It was presumably deleted (nuked) when Google noticed that this family-friendly site wasn't so family-friendly and cut TvTropes off from its ad revenue in response.

e: beaten, but seriously that's over 15000 pages not just 15000 posts, don't you have to run out of fetishes at some point?

This could be either No Yay or Ho Yay, for the people who are into this.

(For those two of you not in the know, part of their gimmick was having a fictional, animated band represent the artists, apparently getting to the point of having a full-out storyline.)

It was also the only thread where you were allowed to discuss sexual matters. They wanted to keep all the smut in one place, so it festered and grew the gently caress out of control. If it weren't tVTropes I'd say that a lot of the posts were probably people just trolling to see how gross of a fetish they could write and still have everyone else nod and go "Cool, man. There was a big "kink thread" in a/t where idiot freaks discussed the best diapers to wear for sexually making GBS threads yourself, or the best racial epithets to use while your pasty white rear end is whipping your black slave girl (these were actual things that people posted about). It got shut down because some guy started talking about his fetish for cooking and eating women.
