I'm about to start volume 62 and yeah, the part 5 translation has been pretty boring so far. Hella cool stand fights though. I think part 5's been professionally translated for an italian release, but I don't think I can get those digitally.Neo_Crimson posted:I can't wait for that for that to be animated so we can unleash weapons-grade food porn on all the Jojo newbies. Even if it was three arcs late.

I just reread the end of part 6 because I wanted to confirm that Jotaro dies with his head cut in half, and this page made me double down on the theory that the end of part 6 is the Steel Ball Run universe: Since the fate of mankind isn't sealed and the universe changes the Steel Ball Run universe is born. I don't care if it's never even plot relevant, it's just too drat cool

If there's one thing about JoJo that never stopped being eighties as gently caress it's eye-popping gore. Also didn't Araki explicitly deny that Steel Ball Run is the result of the ending of Stone Ocean? I coulda sworn he just felt like starting JoJo from a mostly blank slate again independent from the whole universal reset ending of part 6.

^^^ I think there was a quote somewhere in All-Star Battle about the two Josukes being unrelated in time and space, but it's not entirely clear.a cartoon duck posted:If there's one thing about JoJo that never stopped being eighties as gently caress it's eye-popping gore. Araki definitely reset the universe so that he could tell a new story free of his previous continuity, but I don't think necessarily means that the two universes are completely unrelated.

Doesn't really matter though, since Araki could change his mind at any time. If he has any ideas that require the universes to be the same, he'll probably do it.

Tuxedo Catfish posted:I thought this only existed for Part III? edit: Or I guess maybe you speak Italian? Close, French I was doubly lucky to get into Jojo when I did, as those volumes are hard to find and expensive now, the series didn't exactly sell well and the publisher stopped at Part IV. Part V onward is being published by another publisher, but Part I, II and IV volumes are in some sort of limbo for now (Part III is getting republished by the new publishers).

This just cements it further that you don't mess with Gappy. Also, I hope Norisuke isn't a bad guy. He seems like a fun guy, judging from how he jokes about Yotsuyu's lack of a dong.

Kaiser Mazoku posted:The whole discussion about Yotsuyu's dick killed me. Everything about what happened here was absolutely beautiful, and pretty much peak Jojo in the sense that it was a wonderful blend of "holy poo poo, that's hardcore!" and "what the gently caress, that's ridiculous!" And the mystery in this part is feeling really solid and interesting, even when crazy poo poo keeps being introduced. Broseph Brostar posted:e:After floating away into the ocean and unable to stop being a solid rock, Yotsuyu's penis eventually stopped thinking. But seriously, these pillar man parallels are kind of crazy interesting. Maybe if you think that Steel Ball Run was revisiting themes and characters from parts one and three (the whole journey thing... Dio), Jojolion might be reflecting not just part 4, but elements of part 2 as well.
