TinTower posted:Someone's probably going to dub over Wakko's America with the racist lyrics, aren't they? Wakko is already racist. The design of the Animaniac's (black body, white face, white gloves) is based on the classic 1920s/30s characters like Mickey Mouse, Bosko and others which were based on minstrel caricatures. Walt Disney was inspired to create Steamboat Willie when he saw The Jazz Singer. And that's why the Animaniacs wear minstrel gloves.

There's a whole federal category of "migratory game birds" that includes a lot of ducks, geese, woodcocks, snipe, etc. that are legal to hunt during certain seasons. I live not too far from the Ducks Unlimited headquarters, which is a conservation organization founded by hunters of migratory birds.

It was fine afterword, but it definitely kept it's distance then.

rodbeard posted:Sorry I should have specified it's specifically for international migration. There are specific protected species, but mallards (the most popular game for duck hunters) migrate from Canada through the US and into Mexico and back again. Hell, you can hunt snow geese and those things have a range that goes from Siberia or Greenland all the way to Mexico.

Modern Day Hercules posted:Nobody gave a poo poo about it until around the same time radio hit the scene and printing records became a profitable thing. Well, people gave a poo poo if you were selling the sheet music to a copywritten song without the proper attribution, but most of these songs passed from person to person without sheet music. I think the bigger difference between now and then is that now copyright is effectively forever and when things start to get toward the public domain, media companies push to lengthen the period of protection.
