They keep talking poo poo about the contestants on that "guess the celeb" gameshow. I'm terrible at remembering actor's names so I would be terrible at it. That and movies and tv are poo poo these days that's why everyone is cutting the cord. They vastly overestimate how much poo poo people give about actors being Cali natives. I usually just tune them out with all the actor talk.

At around 24 minutes in episode 286, Seth drops his philosophy on computer usage, and it perfectly explains the way he uses the internet (based on earlier in this thread):

Sethro posted:

The only reason anyone should ever be on a computer is to, like, be looking something up, downloading a podcast, buying a song, or watching a TV show. It's the only purpose it should serve, it should serve no other purpose.

Episode 152 has the initial report. Episode 159 has the followup where the Chicago Police Department admits that he did manage to get behind the wheel of a squad car and respond to five calls, one of which resulted in an arrest. 165 has the ultimate followup, where we find out this kid is some kind of mad genius.

He popped up a fourth time late last year, after he had turned 18 where he almost pulled the same stunt again but got caught trying to purchase a police uniform with forged documentation. I really wonder why the feds haven't recruited this guy yet - I mean, yeah, he's probably severely mentally unstable, but someone with the gall to take a woman's stroller and pretend to be the dad, in the heat of the moment, to throw the cops off his trail? That's the kind of guy you want in your deep cover program.

Might as well ask in here since you reminded me of it and I'm now on enough watch lists from trying to google it, what was the name of that American kid that wasn't quite all there in the head that was captured/killed in the middle east around 5 years ago? Like perilously under equipped to conduct a solo intelligence mission in, I think it was Iraq? I think his dad later held a press conference that he should have never been recruited to go there in the first place.

I'd like to read up on the case and see if there is any new information.

Episode 223, Gary Brooks Faulkner. Undertook a one-man mission to capture Osama based on evidence he had compiled. He was no "kid," as he was 52 at the time.

Does anyone have a Youtube link or episode number for the story of the kid who ended up having sex with his ex-girlfriend's mom? I think that's the one where Seth says "You're a young man doing crazy things", which makes me laugh every time.

I never want you to tell me what you are looking these up and that your mind does not contain an encyclopedic knowledge of all diverse UYD topic mentions.

And close, it was Nick Berg and I got the details of the family's statement wrong. But thanks again.

I don't know the specifics but there is an issue where the sheer amount of UYD reached critical mass and the entirety could no longer be contained on itunes. Jonathan mentioned wanting to sort it out, but that was a while ago and, y'know, Jonathan. :shobon:

Podcast Alley still has all the old eps up, though: http://www.podcastalley.com/podcast_details.php?pod_id=20249&allEpisodes=
