I fixed the player one scoring issue! Probably the worst way to do it, with a pair of pliers! The solenoid in the center of the reel mechanism, the one that pulls back to open the normally closed switch underneath it, wasn't opening the switch. So I gently bent the leaf (which was already bent a little for the purposes of letting that solenoid open the switch) a little more and it worked perfectly. Three games in with a new pinball and the only real problems I could find was that the table is canted ever so slightly right (new feet will fix that) and the bonus value light covers are not completely flush...which cost me a good play when a softly hit ball took a hard left off the 3000 light.

The table looks to be in great shape! Great find!

What are the screen regions for tap to nudge on Android Pinball Arcade? Is it just left, right, and an upwards nudge between the flippers?

Edit: Never mind, I found the option to display them.

Finally got around to rearranging the game room, and Hot Shot is in it's more permanent home in the corner, away from the evil, evil sunlight. Have it on furniture sliders so I can pull it back out when I decide I feel like tracking down the intermittent sticking on the player 4 ten thousands reel. The sliders sort of evened out the table, too, and my wife beat me when we played a test game. A shameful performance, no doubt.

My next project is to figure out why the chimes aren't chiming. They're present, though I'm not sure what the assembly should look like and without lifting the playfield I can't see behind to see if they're just disconnected. Game is eerily quiet during play without them, so I'll have to get on this one soon.

Trip report photo dump. Just got home from being in San Francisco for four days and made my way out to Alameda on Friday to go to the Pacific Pinball Museum. Surely most Bay Area goons have been there, but a load of pics for anyone that hasn't. (Half rear end cell phone quality, of course.)

Front room with more electromechanicals (Thanks, Gromit.) than you can shake a stick at.
Including the original Gottlieb El Dorado that El Dorado City of Gold was based on. I glared at it and walked on by.

I was terribly sad to find that someone had defeated the Black Knight into total submission.
Did quite like that Phantom of the Opera though. Never even seen it before the visit.

The first Gorgar I has seen since 1981 or so. That's a Flash on Gorgar's left. Just out of the picture on the right was a Funhouse. I tried to score 3 million points on the Genie backglass on the wall but did not get the final wizard goal at all.

I can now confirm that Orbitor1 isn't that fun drunk OR sober. Centaur on the other hand is awesome in real life.

A room packed with your Williams / Ballys favorites. First time I'd ever gotten to play Black Rose in real life. The cannon feature is pretty drat cool and TPA doesn't really do it justice. Can't see it in the corner of the first pic, but that's a Dr. Dude back there.

Does Rudy creep you out? Try Road Show.

Someone from Seattle represented. It's odd. The last couple times I've been back to Seattle after moving away Shorty's doesn't even seem to be the go to pinball place anymore. For years and years it was though.

Girlfriend rolled her eyes so drat hard as I took this picture. It's not like she didn't know she was dating a 12 year old.

Four more. In one room they had a "Surf Champ" machine from 1976. In the room adjacent to that, a visible version of the same.

Basically, as far as I could tell, someone too the guts to the table and built a more or less transparent body for it. Very cool to see and watch as someone was playing on it.

Overall, the place was pretty drat cool to visit. $15 to get in the door with all the machines set to free play. (Well, there's 5-6 of the latest Sterns in the entry that aren't free but they weren't what I came to see so I didn't care at all.)
About the only downside is that I can't tell you how many times I'd come up to a table to find that someone had started a four player game, played a single ball and then walked away. Not the end of the world, but a bit annoying.

Pro tip: On most modern machines (unless disabled in settings) you can hold the start button in for 2-3 seconds and it will reset the game. Very handy when people walk away from unfinished games.

Went back to my local pinball place and found that my 3rd place 1.5B score on Theatre of Magic got bumped to #4 :smith:
I can still feel good about that 1.5B because that was literally my first game I've ever played on that table (never even played on TPA). That particular table has one of the plexiglass overlays tightened down a little too hard by the rollover masks on the upper right. Send it down the wrong side and it gets wedged in there. I've tried to nudge it out gently probably a dozen times, and it's only worked once without tilting. I could probably do even better on that machine, but it's so frustrating to have a ball or two just wiped out every game.

I also put up 90M in Spiderman, which was good enough for #3 on the table  I'm catching up to you, POO

The assembly should look like this.

One thing I'd look at is the beer seal on the bottom. They can melt and get real sticky. This causes the plunger to stick and not hit the chime. I'd take a look at all the parts and see if everything is in order too. If they look heavily worn, you can buy replacement kits for like $8 here. Might be easier in the long run.

We've got one at Pinballz (or had one) and it was alright. It has a weird mechanic involving the third ball and making a combo ramp shot to get a huge jackpot payoff.

Also the jackpot sfx is one of my favorites. It's this hair-metal sounding dude belting in tremolo "JAAAACK-POOOOOT" for probably 4 seconds.

It was more or less constantly occupied. As it should be. Around the time I left, someone that clearly knew what they were doing was on it and had an audience of 3 people watching. I didn't have time to stick around, so I'm not really sure how far along he was.

Niwrad posted:

I'd never seen it myself either. Only played a couple games, but it seemed fun enough. Girlfriend liked that she was able to start multiballs rather quick without any idea what she was doing. There's one on ebay where the owner says "However, the ruleset is limited and it's not a deep game." Not the greatest salesmanship.

That picture left to right:
Adams Family, Dracula, High Roller Casino, Earthshaker, Roadshow, Airborne, Cyclone, and Hurricane.

Didn't take any pictures myself, but Airborne's playfield is a mess of habitrails.

Oh. And out of frame to the left of Adams Family...

The other side of the room, right to left:
Revenge from Mars, Champion Pub, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Black Rose, a shut down Dr. Who, CSI (Surprisingly not bad for a theme I couldn't care less about.), the old Indiana Jones, Party Zone, and Dr. Dude.
