Solar roads are radical because no semi truck had ever spilled a heavy load or tipped over and fell on a road, furthermore having one of those bolts come final destination style through my windshield and kill me is worth the risk of the panels I think, what a cool way to die.

so if you want solar in parking lots, why not just put solar roofing over the lot... keep cars cool and drastically simplifies rain/snow/weight issues

you don't need gps transmitters to track stolen solar road thingies you just need every single road covered in solar road panels forming a global wireless mesh network so the stolen panel can be localized when it auto-connects. way cheaper that way.
