That's something else about that hajji video. I can't believe how much gear they've got, it's no rag-tag bunch of amateurs is it? Piles and piles of rifles, what seems like an unlimited supply of ammo and explosives, AA weapons, AT rockets, everything. Also, I know we are only seeing one side of the story but the IA seem properly shite don't they? All that American gear (and training, I presume) and they wait for a pickup full of AQ to rock up at the front gates of their base and let them level it, invade and murder everyone. I don't see how they'd get within a mile of the place if they were alert? Maybe someone with some actual knowledge can explain.

The rumor was like at least 1/2 of the Iraqi army battalion we were training was Mahdi Militia. I took solace in the fact that they were absolute garbage at every aspect of soldiering. We would respond to IA unit in contact calls and the IA would be on our flank one second and then you look over and all you see is the fat slow one's back as they run to the bongo truck. Every joint operation we conducted with them was so hosed up we just ended up doing their part ourselves. These dumb fucks would be at a road block overnight where an entire IA unit was killed nights before and literally every one of them would be asleep. When we would check on them the answer was "inshallah." So yeah in summation the IA is garbage and I am not at all surprised that some halfway decently trained and supplied guys are rolling over them like its nothing.
