Hell the 1954 Godzilla is direct response to the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, and the beginning of the movie is essentially a recreation of the Daigo Fukuryū Maru incident in 1947, except with a giant radioactive dinosaur. My favorite part of the Redline review was when he just went full on 'THIS SHOULD BE BANNED' multiple times because a robot had tits or something. Like, the end of the review turned into nearly a passionate plea for a lynch mob to form or something. We have to STOP these anime racers before they can strike again!

http://www.somethingawful.com/current-movie-reviews/million-ways-maleficent/1/ Maleficent's weekend opening, US$70 million North American box office and US$100 internationally. Seth MacFarlane's A million Ways To Die In The West, US$17.1 million. The reviewers were right on with this one.

What is the supposed anti-royalist sentiment that Scots are supposed to be associated with historically? The Jacobites? The SNP? Those were/are both explicitly monarchist movements.

So between Fault in Our Stars and Godzilla, two of the current blockbusters have main character couples who play siblings in other movies. I'm trying to think of other times this casting choice has been done in movies and can't really remember, and here we are with two big ones hitting at once.

Why wait when you can use the future to write your own now? That's right, Triticum Guzzler's "Terrible God drat Comic Book Movies: Days of Future Past" is on the frontpage today! Those of you who didn't get a chance to read it here on the forums, or are simply looking for movie reviews handled a little differently than quote:Her car does not have wheels like the other ones do, because she is without penis and being without penis or wheels just isn't giving her the edge she needs to win on her own terms. [hahaha holy poo poo] might want to take a look, as it's sort of an interesting take on the discipline using jokes and humor.

Its very funny, but is it as funny as someone gnashing their teeth and crying out in despair over a boob robot in a racing car anime film? I'm not sure.

Yeah, I went back and read the review because of all the bitching about and seriously people, let it go. The review is pretty aware of how it's going to be percieved as well even saying quote:If you just want a bombardment of awesome poo poo and loud music, then you're going to love this and probably shouldn't read any further Yet people still got really mad for some reason. Like Clumsy knows most people aren't going to give a poo poo about his reading and he flat out says that if you don't care about this stuff, this is a pretty good movie, but he does and he writed about it and people get mad about someone having a different view for some reason.

From the "A Million Ways to Die in the West" review:quote:MacFarlane's comedic and cinematic style seems to be transplanted from another time. It's incredibly old-fashioned vaudeville silliness full of mugging to the camera and wacky exits. He wants to be Bob Hope in a time when nobody cares about Bob Hope. Considering the older episodes of Family Guy (back when the show was pretty much looked down on as a mediocre Simpsons clone -- coming at a time when The Simpsons quality was starting to fade (around seasons nine and ten, especially when Phil Hartman died and Mike Scully was showrunner) -- known for its cutaways and flashback jokes) and pretty much any interview where he talks about his love for 1940s and 1950s things, I'm surprised the reviewers didn't pick up on this sooner.

Read the review on Willow Creek. Based on the line ".... and it's punctuated by an ending that quietly spells out the disparity in worst fates imaginable for men and women who venture into the wild unknown looking for an encounter with a monstrous biped", I'm speculating the ending is the dude gets killed by bigfoot, and the girl is dragged away for some backwoods ape-rape? Confirm Y/N?

I said this in another thread but I was willing to think that the reason she kept playing these awful roles was because of Hollywood only letting someone like her play those roles but I think she cowrote Tammy with her husband who also directed the film so I don't think she can really deflect the blame here. I mean guess I can say that Hollywood was only willing to give her money for the movie if she was being the type of character they want her to be but I still feel that can only explain away so much in this case.

She's actually won Emmy awards for not playing the oafish comic relief on that Mike & Molly show. You'd think being an award-winning comedic straight woman would open up some other doors for her, but apparently not.
