Anyone else have extremely low audio? I checked all my levels in every panel and I am running the latest drivers, but unless I turn my DAC amp or speakers up to max it isnt playable.

So if anyone has an Nvidia card and is still getting the stuttering, open up GeForce Exerperince and have it set the graphics settings for you. Boom, stuttering gone. Weird thing is that I have no idea what it changed--the settings in the "Current" and "Recommended" boxes were nearly identical--the main difference is that Nvidia recommended a higher AA setting and turned DOF back on Honestly I'm completely stumped. I had changed everything to Low and I only got moderately less stuttering than when it was on Ultra. There must be some setting that GeForce Experience changed that I didn't notice. The game still looks great. asecondduck fucked around with this message at 23:47 on Jun 2, 2014 |

Some of the AA settings will tax your VRAM, others like SMAA will not. If you were VRAM starved and it put you to the recommended SMAA instead of MSAA, that would improve your stuttering. It could have also lowered your textures to 'high' which is what most people find fixes the problem.

I never bothered with Ultra, I knew my graphics card wouldn't handle them (660 TI Boost) [Edit: Ultra Textures, that is. When I mentioned Ultra in my post I was referring to the Ultra graphics preset, which still ran pretty well. NGFE put all the graphics settings on high besides shader, which is medium and the game still looks pretty good.] [2nd Edit: Nope, I'm an idiot. Textures are Medium now. Well, I didn't notice, so I guess that's fine then] asecondduck fucked around with this message at 00:00 on Jun 3, 2014 |

Honestly the game looks good even with medium textures and high everything else. Ubisoft just didn't gimp the high/ultra textures like most games do these days. I played another few hours of this today. It's not a bad game, just not very original and far from "next-gen". The story line feels bland so far compared to the colorful characters/events of GTA V, the main character has a twisted sense of right/wrong - e.g. Hacking peoples bank account's is okay but woah thug gonna beat someones rear end....better break his arms and legs. It's target audience must be 16 - 20 or something, the proportion of NPC's whose personal data I look at and there involved in some sort of seedy sexual doings is off the charts...or is that actually a reliable cross section of the general population?

It works better if you think of it less as the thing that defines them (some of them are really boring) and instead look it as, that's the first juicy detail your hacking program found by looking through their inbox. Those with boring details are people who just don't have emails talking about their dirt, or its buried 3 years in the past and your phone CPU doesn't have time to parse and calculate all that poo poo, not necessarily totally boring people. Crappy Jack posted:On the other hand, it'd be kinda boring if like 95% of the stuff is "enjoys pizza" and "once drank a beer". Also that. I will say though that it almost seems like there's a particular relationship between some details, things like "High school valedictorian" / "prostitute" come up pretty frequently, and that's the typical Ubisoft "oooooh we're being cool and edgey!" meh.

All I can say is, that there was one instance for me where the Profiler made a decision on how to play a certain mission very easy. There is this part where you are supposed to help T-Bone escape by guiding him through obstacles that he can hide behind and avoid Fixers. Thereby avoiding a blood bath. However the Profiler showed that one of the fixers was "Child Pornographer". At that moment stealth was no longer an option for me.

They're also an easy way to get so far ahead of everyone on notoriety that you give up on multiplayer entirely for a while because the risk/reward is not worth it, even a little bit.

If you look at it that way, it makes sense stealing has no affect on your reputation. I try not to kill anybody, stealth is more fun and I like the challenge. But I rob just about everybody. This causes me a pang now and then when I take $2k from someone who's "in rent negotiations with landlord," for instance. coyo7e fucked around with this message at 01:34 on Jun 3, 2014 |
