Did any else love the astrologist tongue-biter girl from the Chicago prison? I almost forgot about her because of how awesome the rest of the season was, but I kinda wanna see more of her.

I bet she committed worker's comp fraud or something.

I know that, but i meant specifically in some cases where an explicitly puerto rican character uses mexican slang or more annoyingly someone speaking spanish who sounds like they never spoken it before in their life. This applies to the food as well, that was all over the place. Or maybe i'm making a tempest in a teacup. Mister Nobody fucked around with this message at 05:06 on Jun 10, 2014 |

I want a flashback episode for Leanne. Not sure why though. Polly is a worthless character. All she ever does is whine, be bitchy to her friends (like when Piper tried to explain to her that she's bisexual instead of lesbian but Polly just cut her off) and get pissy whenever someone suggests that not everything is about her. I know quite a few people like her, though not quite as bad, in real life and I can only stand to be around them for so long. Celery Face fucked around with this message at 04:57 on Jun 10, 2014 |

Well fortunately you can't really do much more with either unless Polly also goes to prison. What I'm wondering is how will they keep Piper in for much longer since apparently her committing perjury didn't change much (she still has ~8 months to go).

First season Polly was annoying as all hell, but I've grown to not mind her in the second. Larry on the other hand is just completely insufferable and so wrongfully self righteous it's unbearable.

Polly is actually a great character because she's annoying as hell. She's the contrast to Piper. They just overuse her is all.

Polly and Piper are almost exactly the same character, the only real discerning difference is the circumstances in life they found themselves in. And Larry too, for that matter. They're all privileged and selfish and whiny shitstains.

Yeah, Polly and Larry deserve to be one character really. She's supposed to be almost exactly like Piper, that's the point. They're whiny upper class, spoiled white girls, just one is in prison and one isn't.

Healy and Pennsatucky are awful people but their relationship is so sweet. I saw Pornstache's actor in other stuff and man does he look different without the mustache. Dude is pretty tall too, he's like 6'4''. Nicky's actress played Opal on Pee Wee's Playhouse and a lot of what happens on the show did happen to her in real life. She really was a heroin addict and had open heart surgery for an infection.

computer parts posted:Well fortunately you can't really do much more with either unless Polly also goes to prison. They've been passing time slowly enough that they can probably milk 4 or so seasons out of Piper's 15 month sentence. But be on the lookout for a plot resulting in Piper getting more time added to her sentence. Or Piper improbably finding herself in the role of prison counselor after her sentence ends. Or something even more outlandish happening. Jenji Kohan proved with Weeds that she has no problem with turning a show's premise on its head, no matter how terrible it makes the show.

Question about Morello in season 2 She's in prison for mail fraud, right? The only thing they explicitly show her getting busted for is the stalking, but the fact that she planted a homemade bomb under that girl's car means she would probably be in a max facility. Maybe they weren't able to prove that she had anything to do with the bomb?

Doppelganger posted:Question about Morello in season 2 I always figured she was in jail for the stalking and they couldn't prove the bomb, or they tried the bomb as 'construction of a destructive device' instead of attempted murder, and she just told everyone it was for mail fraud in order to protect her bizarre fantasy engagement. Or the mail fraud came to light during the investigation of the stalking and the bomb that they couldn't prove, and that's what got her the majority of her time. A lot of the backstories are a little bit vague about specifics, like Miss Claudette, who we see cleaning up after a murder, but who apparently went to prison for the immigration stuff.

I thought the reason for Daya's incorrect speech bubble placement was because she's a big manga fan and probably thought they were meant to be like that.

I like this show but it has a lot of story elements that are built up but get dropped or ignored (Daya's pregnancy being revealed through the phone conversation, Heley watching Piper and Penseltucky fight)and some really clunky dialogue ("Larry I know we've been friends and known each other longer than either of us had known Piper/Australian but..."). Overall gimmie day 3rd season

This whole series has me struggling to remember where I'd seen the cast before. They're a lot of obvious ones (Red is Captain Janeway, Tucky is from 8 Mile) but apparently Big Boo voiced Phugly (The small, fat thing) from The Obblongs.Skeleton King posted:I like this show but it has a lot of story elements that are built up but get dropped or ignored (Daya's pregnancy being revealed through the phone conversation, Heley watching Piper and Penseltucky fight)and some really clunky dialogue ("Larry I know we've been friends and known each other longer than either of us had known Piper/Australian but..."). Heley witnessing Piper and Tucky fighting turned into blackmail from Tucky (New teeth) and Piper (Attempting to leave to see her Grandma) Although Claudette does seem to have a couple loose ends. Whatever happened to the girl she saved, how was she caught and if it was for murder why's she where she was?

Maybe I consume too much hosed up media but, (last episode season 2) was anyone else worried that Rosa would inadvertently run over Caputo, Sister Ingalls, O'Neill, or the nuns? I figured they'd all end up diving out of the way, but they timed it drat well to make it look like an accident might happen.

I'm anxious to see Yoga Jones's back story. Last season, it was revealed that it involved something with a child. Pornstash actor was also the villan/kidnapper/rapist on Law and Order SVU this past season. I loved Morello's back story and can't get enough of her for some reason. Nicky's impression of Alex was spot on too.

A surprising number of actors in this that were in the last few seasons of Weeds. Pornstache, Larry, Healey, Nicky (who play father and daughter)... I also get the sense that Orange is the New Black came about out of a thwarted desire to do a couple of seasons of Weeds set in a prison. But I hope that this show can live past Piper, in a way that Weeds really couldn't live past Nancy. jcschick posted:I loved Morello's back story and can't get enough of her for some reason. I really like the Golden Girls gang and I hope they all get back stories. Also, did we ever hear if the homeless crazy old lady they released on compassionate release died or not? I'd laugh if she crawled thru the rain gutter and came back. Like Caputo is just walking around, and there she is back in the cafeteria.
