Terrible news about Tracy Every time I hear bad news about a comic who has even the vaguest of ties to O&A/R&F I think: "Why him and not DEFF-RAY GUR-DIAN?"

If anybody wants a laugh, turns out that Ant's old girlfriend Melissa got fired from her gig writing for xojane.com due to a racial tweet. She tried to apologize, then wrote another racial tweet, which got her sacked. Bonus? She tried to blame Ant's influence on her in the apology. Then got caught white-knighting for herself in the comments. It's all here: http://www.reddit.com/r/opieandanthony/comments/27p6kz/melissa_stetten_fired_from_xojane_blames_anthony/

I know Opie considers himself a radio genius but doing 2+ hours watching videos that the audience can't see wasn't entertaining.

I hated his response to that caller who said the show had gotten stale ("Well why don't you go and do your own show, then?") Also I'm generally annoyed with the phrase "to be honest widdya". Thus concludes the Opie venting for this week.

She went full tilt and poo poo the bed spectacularly.

She was fired. According to one of her blog posts awhile ago Anthony was cheating on her nearly the entire time they had a relationship. I admire the man's who gives a poo poo attitude.

The entire situation, for everyone involved, is cringe-worthy and embarrassing. I wonder if that whole twitter thing of her outing the engaged actor for hitting on her was bullshit. That's pretty much the reason she started getting "writing" gigs like this. Before that she was just the model chick Anthony dated.

Ron Bennington is precious and schizophrenic about 9/11. He can't stand the memorial/museum, He thinks it is in bad taste for Molly to go there, he calls action movies with buildings being damaged "9/11 porn", and thinks New Yorkers have had enough tragedy related to it.... Yet every September 11th Ron & Fez do a show where that's all they talk about. They tell the stories about on air that day, Billy Staples sneaking into the city, Ron having to go find his kids, about all the friends of the show that came out of those downtown pub crawls they did for the local bars afterwards, and then close the show with Walk On by U2. The same show, every year, like its some kind of... whats the word I'm looking for... memorial, or something.

The same show, every year, like its some kind of... whats the word I'm looking for... memorial, or something. I mean, sure I was stuck on a college campus in Southern VT unable to reach my dad who worked for INS in NW DC when reports were talking about bombs exploding at Union Station and a plane was headed for the White House. Sure I was trying to take care of my girlfriend who was having a panic attack while I was struggling with an emotional breakdown. Sure my friends and classmates were all trying to reach friends and family in NYC and DC. No, only NYC suffered on that day. Ron is really bad with this poo poo, but so are O&A. It's really annoying. I listened to most of the first hour of Ron breaking Molly's balls over nothing but then that shooting happened in Oregon and I just switched over to CNN radio. e: and for the record, I do agree that the 9/11 Memorial has been badly handled (to put it mildly). I hate the parties and the gift shop. I think it's stupid that people should have to buy $20-30 tickets to pay the six-figure salaries of executives. I think showing up at the memorial in flip-flops and tank-tops is in poor taste. But this isn't a NYC vs The World thing. And yeah, tourists are annoying and stupid. Always have been, always will be. Doesn't matter what city or museum it is. UncleMonkey fucked around with this message at 05:55 on Jun 11, 2014 |

But you can't see the difference between a radio show once a year on the day of the attack, and a gift shop literally selling key fobs and t-shirts where people died? The point isn't that a memorial is inappropriate. It's that the museum feels less "memorial" and more "exploitive".

Ron is a massive hypocrit about numerous things on a day to day basis. He mocks Hicks for not being able to talk properly and he himself constantly says the wrong words for things and mispronounces a bunch of simple words, for instance.

Yeah Ron rules forever. Him smashing on Hicks and anyone else around is just because he likes to mess with people. Every time a comedian comes in, the first thing he says to them is something hosed up to see if they will roll with it. Even when he takes an annoying stance on something its only to provide perspective and prevent dull radio, and he doesn't let anything degrade into a stupid cyclical arguement. That's Fez's job. Also f u guys for always calling Ron a hipster he invented hipsters motherfucker, and good that he tries to get interesting people I've never heard of its called culture ok

I found it refreshing that Molly didn't back down on her opinion of the whole 9/11 memorial even when Ron was telling her why he still thought it was a bad idea. It was kind of refreshing to see someone in the studio who was willing to actually have a difference of opinion conversation with Ron, and I think Ron kind of appreciated it too. Also Ron owns and I enjoy some of his "hipster" stuff that he exposes me to, it's nice to experience different things from time to time.

He invented a poo poo thing. Ron is good when he is being funny but otherwise he is insufferable most of the time. I skip huge chunks of R&F because they are simply unlistenably terrible and no one on staff has the balls to do anything other than lap Rons rear end so these chunks keep happening. His movie talk is awful. The other day when he was talking to the Slashfilm guy the have on regularly he said that literally all blockbusters are terrible movies. You know, because once something is financially successful it automatically becomes terrible. He now calls True Detective "the stupid Yellow King show" despite loving it at first because it became popular in the mainstream. He then went on to say that he liked the Seth Rogan "Green Hornet" movie from a few years back because "when i saw it in the press screening i thought it was poo poo but then i watched it later on DVD and loved it". Basically he hated it initially because he thought it was going to be popular but then it bombed so it was brilliant. It's the exact reason he is looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy. He's expecting it to be the first major dud for Marvel because it doesn't include recognizable superheroes. Watch him change his tune on it completely once it makes a couple of hundred million dollars.
