I am betting that if Brazil goes out to Croatia (hey it might happen) then the world cup is called off as every single foreign team flees the country when the old Meso-American way of dealing with losing teams is reinstated.

I have a feeling Brazil are going to choke. To the extent where I put £50 on Germany. I also have a feeling that African teams have something to prove in South America after the last WC. Oh and the tiebreaker is 18.

Sky Shadowing posted:I, as a Michigan State fan who took fiendish delight in this, feel that this also needs some perspective, especially for our non-Americans. On the previous play Michigan had gone for it on 4th down and the refs blew the spot, resulting in Michigan keeping possession while it should have gone to South Carolina. So on this play, after a long review, Jadeveon Clowney says 'gently caress it, it's our ball and I'm getting it back', blows through the middle untouched, levels Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson, who loses his helmet AND the ball, which Clowney scoops right up and proceeds to advance a few yards before the Michigan offense recovers and brings him down. South Carolina's offense takes the field and scores immediately to take the lead, and would eventually win. I have absolutely no idea what this means. That said, here's something to contribute - Jack Wilshere's goal against Norwich, the Premier League goal of the season this year:

I was going to. The trochanter one specifically. Shamefully, it was the first thing I could think of. Guitar_Hero posted:That said, here's something to contribute - Jack Wilshere's goal against Norwich, the Premier League goal of the season this year: One of my favourite goals ever. Beats the Bergkamp goal against Newcastle hands down in my opinion and makes a change from the long series of "sweet strike from improbable location" parade you generally get. I've been trying to find some gifs of footballing legend Matt Le Tissier for some of the beautiful football he produced out of an improbable frame but been drawing a blank. P.S. I looked up Arfon Griffiths and he not only was Wrexham's most capped player but then also guided them through two promotions and a run to the European Cup Winner's Cup quarter final. He even briefly played for Arsenal.

And I wish I could find my favorite baseball gif, but I can't. It's the one where Jose Fernandez of the Marlins catches a ball hit straight at him, and the batter stops, and just asks, "Did you catch that?" and Fernandez just says, "Yes. Yes I did." Wish I could find a small one that isn't 5mb.

I miss the old Champ Man 2 days when you could set your tactic to 5-3-2 (attacking OR defending, for subtlety) and just watch your team roll over everyone. I would love to play this game and recreate the days of taking Mansfield Town to the top flight, but I don't like football irl and I don't understand the first thing about how it's played, and these next-gen simulations always curbstomp me. I do like team-building strategy roleplaying games though. Bring back Champ Man 2 imo. Also nice thread.
