There was also a 1992 show Australia's Naughtiest Home Videos where the station owner Kerry Packer famously tuned in, hated it and rang the station and ordered it to be taken off immediately. The host Doug Mulray was also banned for life from appearing on that station but eventually returned after Packer died, and the show was aired in full :nws: in 2008.

What an awful show. I'd probably cancel it too (but for different reasons).

To explain a bit more, Australia only has four commercial free-to-air stations. The ones who don't score the Olympics tend to try and dig up something to draw eyeballs. This was Channel 9's attempt to pull in the crowd; host a retrospective of a TV show that got infamously canned and until that point only existed partially on VHS bootlegs.

Doug Mulray was invited to re-host the show but didn't see much point so they wheeled out Burt Newton.

I know at least two other naughty video clip shows were aired during the 90's that usually focused on European commercials or ruder home-video clips. Kind of surprised the format is still running given YouTube tends to cater nicely.

Perhaps I should make it just the man, a computer, and a stiff-looking towel.

XKCD revels in being nerdy and/or geeky which is pretty much the opposite of what goons do.
