Darn it, Flint and Tinder. I want to buy their awesome Kickstarted 10-year hoodie because it looks comfy as gently caress and I've realized that I have no jackets or sweaters or hoodies that aren't full-on winter stuff. I need something for when it's just a bit chilly out, not freezing. But their sizing is completely whacked. Apparently, their x-large has a 36-inch arm length, which makes no sense at all. I'm not built like a drat gorilla, my jeans legs are only 32 inches. E: Oh, it's sleeve length, measured from the back of the neck, to the shoulder and down to the wrist. Got a new air compressor for father's day. My old Harbor Freight doorbuster special shot craps roughly a month after installing my spool, and I've been without for nearly two years now. It's gonna come in real helpful working on the Nova. Says "Snap-On" on it, but it's obviously not made by Snap-On. The name is just being used under license and the unit is Chinese made. Still, if Snap-On was willing to license their name and CostCo is selling it, I'm going to assume it's pretty well made. Also it was like only $160 I think. Anyway, with my son at camp for the next month I got my daughter to help me assemble it. She had a lot of fun running the ratchet to bolt the handle on.

I have rarely been disappointed with anything that Costco sells, and if I am, invariably they will do right and resolve my disappointment in some way, shape, or form. Also that's a nice looking compressor, I should check Costco out once I've finally killed the PoS I've got.

That looks like a lot of the same hardware that's on my smaller / older Costco compressor. It has to refill after taking off one wheel's worth of lugnuts with the IR rattlegun I got off of JnnyThndrs, but it refills quickly enough and hasn't ever complained. It did develop a minor leak somewhere in the manifold / valves when I wasn't using it for a long time... and then fixed itself when I used it more often than once a month for a while. Don't know, don't care.

The first was a bag of cat food my cat refused to eat. Nothing I can do there. The second was a jar of pickles I thought were awful (I'm picky about pickles), and the third was just the other week when I returned their Pork Strips. They were of good quality, but I didn't like the taste at all.

I have a stupid question that isn't exactly AI but does relate to selling a car, so I'll post it here. Is a notarized power of attorney not valid for a federal form? Apparently the odometer disclosure form is a federal form and I can't sign for it. Anybody hear of this / deal with it? edit: one time the bag of Kirkland tortilla chips I bought was randomly not salted. That was a funny return They have taken back a dead UPS which is great. My oil pump hardware and seals failed. The dealership replaced it, plus did the timing belt and AC belt for free under their warranty and got my car in and out in a day. That's some seriously kickass customer service.

I want to be lovely and make a website like: https://www.businessnameisascam.com but god drat it I know better. Some times you just have to take the high road. I'm just tired of getting phone calls/messages from people going: "Hey I just met lovely mechanic and he was slandering you, your friends shop, and some other random shop I've never heard of." Thankfully that's followed up by, "I'd never want him to touch anything of mine just because of his attitude." And I'm sure it does not help that when you Google his name/business, the first twelve+ links are AVOID THIS BUSINESS. BUSINESS IS S SCAM. MEMBER BANNED FROM FORUM FOR SCAM. Hopefully he will either A disappear to some other car group or B overdose on what ever is causing his paranoid disillusion stories he is trying to spread.

I just got my M52 delivered for my swap, and the A/C compressor is uncapped and open to the air. It's been like that for about a week, according to the guy at the junkyard. Thankfully, it still spins very smoothly and I can feel pressure when I spin it. It's only been at most 30% humidity for the last while, so it might be OK, right?

The compressor shouldn't be hurt from being open to the air, just remember to add oil to the system, vacuum it down for a while to dry everything out, and replace the drier/accumulator before charging the system. If it bolts to the same spot on both engines, you can just use the one from the old motor. There's an A/C thread somewhere on here, too. Read that.

Yeah, water evaporates quite readily when a hard vacuum is drawn before charging the system. Did any rain get into the pipes? If not, you are fine. Cap em with tape or something if they are just cut off (otherwise, rubber glove fingertips and tape work well) and ignore it till the swap is done and ready for the ac system work.

Wait, they offer a manual? .... and I just checked ford.com, the manual is available on everything except the base model. That's a surprising twist. The SE has everything I want except for a sunroof as standard equipment (and you can order it with the sunroof). One of my coworkers has a 2012 Fusion, it's a drat nice car (especially for what he paid for it, though his is a former rental). Knowing there's a manual available just plopped the Fusion on my radar whenever I upgrade from the Ion.

AI... In an effort to guzzle more gas I'm looking at a Jag XJS that's had the v12 ripped out and a SBC 383 in its place with a built turbo 350 tranny. I went to look at it and the only issues is the power steering rack is shot, and there's a rust hole next to the drivers rear wheel. Who ever did the engine swap was a pro or a very good diy. Theres no misc wires hanging around and all the gauges even work (yeah even the tach) What could possibly go wrong? (Besides everything)

And lets face it, Jaguars that came with V12's are ALWAYS improved with throwing that poo poo out and dropping any SBC in. I'd say it'll be at least noticably better than stock reliability wise.
