Drink and I are still in CTS but yah, that is pretty much what I am doing. The lost arts I've found as well, which give this game some wushu potential of learning a lot of abilities, but no idea yet.

EDIT: Craft skills are 1 rank per 10 character levels. You can buy up to rank 5. I don't know how you get it beyond that. Drops are pretty much in the area of leveling for your crafting. It looks real easy.

The upgrading part looks harder.

"This may have been a mistake."
There are also tokens obtained from doing daily quests that can be exchanged for gear, so who knows if crafting will be worth it in the end. Are there any stat buffs from food/potions or is it just healing/mana? Also, any idea how to grab more refinement materials?

The Swordman combat seems so clunky... Wushu's is more fun imho, also personal taste, but I don't like the whole ice and fireballs and what not, Wushus Chi energy balls seem more fitting to the universe than stuff that looks like western fantasy mage casters.

The combat feels a ton better once you get your flight skills, get block, and switch to action control mode. It looks like there is SOME depth here. I am just waiting to find it.

I'm only vaguely interested in the game since I hate PVE centric MMOs :(

The combat in wushu is better. Easily. But since wushu is a dieing game here I am.

PvP starts at level 31 and so far I've seen plenty of people killing each other at that level.

Since people are mainly on the rails for experience, it is easy to find pvp or start it.

Look at it like amusing stories to tell about Swords while you idle in Wushu. If I recall we did similar when Wulin launched: compared stories, translations, players.

I don't mind if they talk about it here since it seems like Wushu but worse. But since they're both based on Wuxia and both dev teams are money grabbing there are a ton of parallels.

I'm interested in seeing if the combat actually gives more depth (doubt it) or any other comedy.

As far as I know, perfect world has never sold a sword skin for 16k, or a 600 dollar camel. Granted they are still pay2play in everything but name, but they aren't nearly as blatantly and unabashedly awful as Snail.

The combat is definitely better in Wushu but I'm having a much better time with Swordsman since combat is less complicated and the server seems to be more stable not to mention there's a whole new realm of terrible spergs to grief :allears:

It's definitely worth trying out if you're a wushu fan since the game seems more published than Wushu's google translate.

If only Lone Sword Village had more than one sword though...

edit: You get 64 slots for a maxed bank (30 when you start off)

I started Wushu and Swordsman roughly simultaneously having no prior experience with either.

Wushu is loving inscrutable and janky, but feels very deep, if you can ever manage to plum those depths, that said, it definitely has dying game feel to it.

Up to level 25 or so on Swordsman's rails, and so far it's the same on rails themepark MMO as anything else Perfect World makes, maybe it gets more interesting when you finish the rails? Right now it's click name > wait > left and right click on appropriate things > press R a few times > click name > wait. Swordsman's almost annoyingly crowded, though.

Swordsman is kind of fun but so far it's been mostly clicking the current thing in the quest log. Then I either talk to a guy or start hitting something. Sometimes, I pick up a thing.

I got to the second Shaolin skill set last night after a couple hours of playing, which seems really fast. So far it feels shallower than Wushu and faster-paced. The translation is infinitely better, and I did enjoy drunkenly beating the poo poo out of a pet monkey thinking it was Sun Wukong, but so far there's been almost nothing I couldn't complete by basically clicking "next" over and over in the quest guide.

I'm liking the second Shaolin set, it's fun to roll up a bunch of NPCs into a ball with a tornado, then beat the poo poo out of them with my stick.

How's PvP?

At 35 I got a quest randomly that told me to go kill a world boss. You get 60 minutes and it probably takes a full group. Healing or knowing how to CC the boss helps.

Several times we had to root the boss just so the guy could meditate since he was out of food.

The reward was a blue sack with two items in it, and from the description, it looks like a paint brush and a rag.

We didn't finish it due to people coming to pk us which is alright. That was expected.

Here are the PK modes by the way.

Koop I don't know about bank space as I have yet to use a bank. Haven't run out of space yet.

Apparently caps in names in same thing as Wushu, you can have character named Koop and koop.
Also the female voice is truly annoying. I really tried to make an old woman, but sadly the closest it allows is some laugh lines (unless I really overlooked something). However I see some male player characters with full white hair and wrinkles!

Most female characters I saw in the 10 minutes played thus far have their eyes set at THE BIGGEST size ever. The default size is already retarded enough, had to scale that back. Some things never change in Jianghu.

The arena system isn't bad and has rewards.

If I am reading this right, we get coins from arena combat and can spend those to buy scrolls which we can then use to buy skills.

I don't know if we can buy other skills from other schools. Or if you get scrolls from other locations.

The bracket system has a built in betting system.

Chinagame just decided to give me the Peach blossom RE, so my exploration of railman online will have to be delayed a little. I really wished to see the "sex trafficking with children" level.

For those wondering, perfect world "beta" are more like staggered launch so the server don't crap itself come the big day. Once the cash shop is in the game is live and there wont be wipes.

To get to land and be a true bandit camp we have to kill the dragonrise order thief in fu giu outskirts and it spawns every 15 minutes.

We will need 3 guild tokens/dragonrise orders.

EDIT: for beta, pvp is level 31, and that is like 3-6 hours of play time. Arena combat is 30 or 35, I forget. But open world happens fast.

Oh hey sorry berg. We are sorta using this for two things. Swordsman online beta and age of wushu.

Age of wushu takes like a month or so of having a mentor and doing dailys to level up.

Swordsman online is age of wushu on rails.

BERGfu

Wushu has better combat by far but a lack of people. And to be competitive it takes a month of having a mentor but it jumps you straight to end game. It is ok that way.

Swordsman online is done by perfect world and we really don't know much about it yet. We just formed the guild and are trying things out. You can go either way. The beta lasts for two weeks and there is a link up above for a key.

Do you like torture and/or cart raiding? Apparently Swordsman has that poo poo in spades

In our base we have a torture area where we inflict pain and people for:

Whats this thing do? We don't know yet, we need 3+ people at a rank above newcomer. That means people who have been in guild for 24+hours and have 40 guild points.

How do you get these points?

When you join the guild you should be able to do missions for points, the ones we did rewarded 15 each so it should be super easy to do.

Game is weird as gently caress, combat is wonky but this guild hall is way cooler at least.
