10:10 is just the time clocks are usually set to when they're shown in advertisements. It doesn't mean anything (much like the rest of that image). He probably just grabbed the first image he saw on Google.

They also had a literal pornstar in government, Ciccolina. "Ilona Staller (born 26 November 1951), widely known by her stage name, Cicciolina, is a Hungarian-born Italian porn star, politician, and singer. Staller continued to make hardcore pornographic films while a member of parliament. She is famous for exposing her breasts in parliament" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilona_Staller

A common gripe against Mercator is that Greenland looks bigger than Africa. It's not Africa that's small, it's Greenland that's gigantic. The US is low enough that it's not that distorted. Distortion on a Mercator chart is a function of uh... The cosines of colattitude or something? Anyway as poo poo gets closer to the poles it gets stretched out, and Mercator charts are basically useless above 60 degrees of latitude.

This same girl suddenly noticed the other day when she coincidentally looked out her kitchen window that this same almost 3-year-old had let herself out of the apartment and was playing in the street (and had been for who knows how long), and left a boxcutter lying out in reach and was just astonished when the kid got it and ended up getting cut, so while I hope for the best, I'm not really expecting it. To top it off... all of these things have happened in the last week. uranium grass has a new favorite as of 22:01 on Jun 17, 2014 |

Because people over-report The Onion, Clickhole gets a similar "ignore the complaints" treatment. See the link below. Uhhhh, I can see why people would report it. http://www.clickhole.com/video/if-you-grew-calvin-hobbes-you-need-watch-right-now-318 Maybe they are idiots but I noticed that. Edit: I thought it was clear based on context, but that link is very NSFW and also possibly illegal. I clicked on it from Facebook on my work computer because my company is cool and let's us have nice things. Clickbait may change that, I'm waiting for a call from HR. I don't think you're going to go to jail for looking at a flash animation of calvin and hobbes loving, primarily because it's rather obvious that it's not intended as erotica but rather some hosed up art. There's a difference between lolicon and this.

This fits the thread, being an ignorant FW:FW:FW: email that I just got from a relative, reads like a lovely Facebook rant, and probably went out to a bajillion people by now. It starts off with a whole shitload of pics of nice places in Africa...houses, buildings, all the non-starving-shithole places, and uses that to make eloquent arguments: dumbass chain letter posted:THIRD WORLD COUNTRY? I wrote back a long response with a bunch of facts about Africa, and how it's made up of 50 countries and over twice the size of the US with over 3 times our population, and that means that it's reasonable that there are nice places and that the entire goddamn continent isn't going to be a perfectly uniform hellhole. I also asked her if she would help someone in the street who was about to be run over, guessed that she would since I've known her a long time and she's a nice lady, and then asked her why? That person isn't part of your family. I don't know him. You don't know him. Not sure if she'll get the point. Not to mention the whole "we're all being duped by the media" horseshit. There are certainly problems with foreign aid, but FYGM is a pretty lovely solution.
