Non-smartass post:
Does anyone have the Pilot Falcon in black/rhodium with a soft fine nib?
I have been looking pretty hard at one and I am looking for a review from a goon.
Second question, I really like the Rohrer & Klingner Salix iron-gall ink. Is it going to ruin my Custom Heritage 92? My daughter dropped it and cracked the resin already so I am not that worried about staining or anything.

It's just a refillable bottle that you store ink in and use to refill your pen. Some inkwells (notably those made by TWSBI) work with specific pens so that you can plug your pens into them and get complete fills without making a huge mess. That, and some bottles aren't great to fill with with once the ink reaches a certain level. Others are specially sealed for travel.
Certainly not something that's required, but they can be nice to have around.

I just wanted the add one thing about the TWSBI inkwells.
TWSBI designs their inkwells to work specifically with certain models in their lines, but that does not mean that you can't use them as a general inkwell to use with other pens. I have the TWSBI VAC700 and 580 inkwells, and I use them with my varous Pilots and Lamys all the time. However, if you do happen to own TWSBIs, being able to take off the nib unit and connect directly to the inkwell to fill it is pretty awesome. For most bottles of ink, I can't fill my VAC700 from the bottle once I use up about half the bottle.

!!HAUL 18/06/14!!
Howdy all, long time lurker, first time poster. And today, I managed to get my hands on a few great new pens that I can't wait to show off for you.
First off we've got the ballpoint pen that my brother stole a box of from his old job [x2]. I don't mean to imply that he took the box while he was leaving - he took the box while he still worked their. Text on the side of the pen reads "This Pen Belongs to the HR Manager Please Return". Heh, don't think I'll be doing that! Ink = blue, as you can see the lines aren't the smoothest but they get the job done. Scribbled a little bit on the I there to "kick-start" the ink flow. Sits really nicely in your hand. Click on/off.
Second on the list we have a tiny pen from a bookmaker's. These pens are made to be shoved by the handful into tiny plastic receptacles so that drunk elderly men can drop them on the floor and stamp on them before using them, and it shows. This little beast may look unassuming, but it's packing some serious build quality. The exception is the nib - I wouldn't put too much pressure on this while writing. As you can see, the ink is black, to show up better on a monochrome betting slip printout, and the lines are smooth and clear. Good choice.
IKEA Pencil - no nib and I couldn't find a good sharpener. As I recall it's a pretty light pencil, definitely not something you'd use for drawing, but as a writing tool it does it's job ok. The size is awkward if you have big hands, if you pare this thing a couple times it's going to cut right into your hand. Can't recommend this in good conscience, unless you're in an IKEA.
Here we've got a Sharpie. Now Sharpie are known for producing some of the finest quality pens around, and this little number [standard black] is no exception. Good line variance potential, as you can see in the I and Y there. There is a certain amount of "bleed through" on cheaper paper, so be wary if you're leaning on a table to write. I like to lean on an old bit of card, just in case.
A bit of purple chalk
Well, that's all the haul I've gotten for today, and I can't wait to get down to some serious writing with each of these little guys, because due to an unusually strong magnetic field emanating from my body, any time I try to use a computer the hard drive instantly gets wiped clean. Cheers!

Yeah, the TWSBI inkwells have a removable metal part (this is the part that you choose the color for) between the inkwell itself and the cap, which has a thin pipe going into the inkwell and is designed to fit the TWSBI pens (after removing the nib section). If you take that part out, the cap still screws directly onto the inkwell and acts as a plain old inkwell.

Like, this trolling isn't up to snuff with the high quality of stuff us pen guys are looking for.
I suppose it's got potential to be mildly amusing but I just don't see such a rich vein to exploit with people who like fountain pens. So what? Oh, it seems needlessly expensive. BAZOOPLE! What are you? A 19th century puritan? "You're not frugal enough, by jove".
Jumping in to shout "I don't understand this! It is outside of my very limited and narrow view of the world" doesn't really make you a comedic genius. It makes you white noise.

I think we can all appreciate the effort that no they will not put into this post. It sets a good baseline standard for pen thread jokes, showing a certain grasp of the subject-matter and a willingness to adapt classic punchlines like "i'm gay" to new posting forms. It puts hate pants' low-effort threadshitting to shame. However, I was very disappointed by the lack of fountain pens. 7/10.
