Considering the timeline, I wouldn't be surprised if this sequence of events is the last time Max ever saw his mom-either resulting from an accident at the "Hole Pit" (Which given the name isn't exactly out of the question) or possibly an accident immediately thereafter. Hell, it could even be the reason why he wants to see her so much-if he feels (However indirectly) responsible for her death, he may very well want to try and apologize for it. Or he might just really want to see her again regardless, but that's hardly speculation.  One thing I did consider while typing up this post, though, is if Scrapdragon is capable of seeing this scene. We know that spirits are capable of utilizing their spectral's senses and feeling their emotions, but are they capable of seeing into their dreams?

On the last page, there is no welding mask on, but on the new one she's wearing one. So did we segue from a vision into a flashback? Am I over-thinking this?

I"m assuming because Johhny manage to see the lighting? But that can't be true because Issac said non spectrals can see,feel and hear his stuff because half of his powers are external materials. edit: Issac only panicked because he though Johnny was KO'd when he fought that one spirit.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Issac's possession powers all manifest as normal things (thunder, lightning, etc) that anybody can see and hear.

In fact, Zack specifically went back and edited out where Johnny saw all the spirits and stuff from the last panel on a strip because it wouldn't jive with his continuity of only spectrals seeing spirits, so Johnny definitely is neither ghost nor spectral.

More likely it's not on the previous page because it would be confusing for the reader/ruin the "reveal" of her welding in the next page. On that earlier page we're supposed to know it's Max's mom, not what she's doing.

Yeah, it looks like the sort of thing you can read as segueing from a general memory to a more specific one. Max might have started remembering this moment, then realized, "Oh yeah, she had that welding mask on."

I'm gonna GUESS that Boss Leader NORMALLY can't barge into unconscious thoughts of people inside the dome, but then max when and got knocked unconscious outside the dome so BL grabbed the opportunity to check to see if there's anything useful in his head.
