Yeah I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, I swear, I would just hate for the figures with actor likenesses to be a big eyesore in a few months if the movie isn't good.

That being said Groot is one of the prettiest toys I have seen in ages and is almost worth the price all by himself.

And my familiarity with the characters is limited to their appearance in All-New X-Men. Are there any essential GOTG stories I should be reading?

There's a definitive reading list image floating around out there for the mid-00s Marvel Cosmic stuff, but it has various :files: URLs printed all over so I wouldn't show it off in here.

Speaking of the woes of not pre-ordering, last I checked Gaim is unavailable for less than 63 :negative:

Ah, but Kachidoki isn't, and it looks amazing from the preview.

Seriously, wait for the re-release on Gaim, he is truly a well done figure, and since he's selling like hotcakes, I don't see why they wouldn't.
and thanks Dre2Dee2, I was thinking the pic would go unremarked.

Shameless ebay plug, got most of my palisades muppets stuff listed everything starting auction at .99 so bid early and often.

I've also got a few older legends figures up. (That deadpool I got from someone on here for not very much at all, and had no idea it would get to as much as it already has with said poster's "custom" work on it.)

Please help me clear out my room.

Shot in the dark here(Bushifox reminded me), but does anyone have any of Palisades Invader Zim figures they'd like to get rid of for a price that isn't asinine? I still need some Robo Parents and the Gir house. Don't give a poo poo about Gir.

Also a new S1 Dib would be pretty cool. Old one's glasses snapped in half. :gonk:

Found the TMNT movie figures at Wal Mart today and they do NOT look good in person. Insanely small and just generally cheap-looking. Raphael looked the least-awful, so I picked him up to test the waters.

He's... tolerable. He's not as rail-thin as the other figures and his costume is simple enough that the nearly non-existent paint apps don't look too bad. He also has the benefit of the least-obvious nose and plain white pupils.

It really seems like these figures were sculpted with the intention of being much larger than they are. There's a ton of detail in some areas that just looks busy and confusing. There's also a section molded onto the back of his belt that's clearly supposed to be loops to store his weapons, but they're so tiny on the figure that they just wind up as sealed-off bumps in the plastic.

I almost picked up a Shredder as well, since his sculpt is pretty good, but the paint-apps on his face are terrible and make him look like a cross-eyed weirdo whose face is caving in on itself. I initially assumed it was just a single bad figure, but every one I looked at had the same ridiculous look.

I have yet to stick my toe into the figma/figurarts/monsterarts (though those godzillas are really tempting me) but saw these two guys at toys r us for fairly reasonable prices:

I know nothing about either of these characters, but they look interesting enough I'm sure I could find a place for them somewhere. Would these be a fair representation of what I would expect from the companies?

They're from Tiger & Bunny, a show that can best be described as "What if you took Captain Amazing from Mystery Men and created an entire industry out of people like him?"
No joke, the first news anyone heard about the show's production was Sunrise selling ad space on their costumes.

And yeah, Figuarts are pretty much the perfect midpoint between sculpt quality, articulation (ye gods the articulation), and actually being semi-affordable.

I have a bunch of Figuarts too, mostly Power Rangers and Sailor Moon and they're all excellent. The MonsterArts figure for King Kong is beyond cool. I change his pose weekly. I'd probably buy Figuarts figures for stuff I don't know anything about, that's how nice they are. My only minor complaint is that the Rangers don't come with a stand.

The majority of my figures are Figuarts, they really have ruined my standards, to the point where I couldn't pick up any star wars black figures because they just weren't good enough.

Also; I love me some Kamen Rider, so it's pretty much a no-brainer for me.

If you look around online Tamashii Stage Act.5s come in packs of three for around 10-15 dollars and are designed specifically for Figuarts and Super Robot Chogokins. And that's not even going into specialist/character specific stands, such as that Crater everyone fell in love with or the Obligatory Dramatic Flames.

EDIT: Oh holy crap Square just got the Titanfall license for Japan.

And since it's not ThreeZero, there's a good chance this one will cost less than 450 dollars.

With regards to pricechat from a few pages ago, the skyrocketing prices of mass market stuff would be slightly easier to swallow if the quality had gone up from 10 years ago. But it's stagnated, and arguably gone down in some regards. They improved from the initial Hasbro ML releases, but that REALLY doesn't count. Toy Biz's latter day ML releases had some issues (giraffe neck Mr. Sinister, some crappy bodies), but they were definitely learning in some regards, at least.

I mean don't get me wrong, I'm completely psyched for yet another Batman figure in a video game based costume, where else would you ever get a Batman figure right?
Yet another Joker figure, an ugly one from a bad video game.
A Michael Jackson figure which, I mean when I think of famous characters and action...
A random zombie figure. Who isn't anticipating this one?
Is this blank figure for sale? Is it going to be?

Smooth Criminal was a pretty good music video so thats pretty great imo.
