I can see this going something like Shadowrun Returns with them using the sales of the game after it's released to fund a more lengthy and expansive sequel.

I'm surprised they are using 3D models. I mean, Homestuck's art is entirely based on 2D sprites. No reason to doom and gloom over the developer choice. It was always going to be a fairly simple adventure game, and if they can pull that off then we should be good to go. Hussie/North writing will carry the game for however many hours it will last.

At this point I'm mostly just hoping the soundtrack is fun. The models look neat enough, though I was also kind of expecting sprites as well.

Of course, there's already been like three cosplays of the antler troll and too much fanart to count. This is the curse and the boon of being in a gigantic, overenthusiastic fandom.

Honestly I'm surprised he's even making this. Hussie doesn't seem like the kind of person to dabble in sequels and such. Also, I figured he of all people would be ready to get away from the trollmania after years of being deeply immersed in it.

To be honest it does feel a bit weird creatively, since it feels very "sequel-y" to focus on having trolls in the game just because they were so very popular in the comic. It makes sense from the perspective of giving the audience what they want, but I hope when Hussie's done the game he can start an all-new project and work on some fresh ideas.

He expects Paradox Space to outlive Homestuck, and he further expects to become less involved with Paradox Space as time goes on. I think that's indicative that he intends to use Homestuck's potentially enduring popularity (assuming it does, I'm not sure what the fan consensus is on PXS) to fund future projects. Either that or he'll go the way of all other popular media with an endless parade of sequels, prequels, remakes, and eventually reboots. Or, as in the case of X-men: Days Of Future Past, all four at once.

There's nothing outright wrong with PXS. It's like going on Tumblr for Homestuck fan comics: every so often you find something that's pretty good, except with PXS at least you don't have to wade through pages of terribly drawn comics and endless pages of porn.

The draw of PXS is precisely that it showcases the guest cartoonists' own styles (both in art and in writing).

Well, let's see what I can remember, in terms of where everyone is / what they are doing: John - Equipped with powers that let me be anywhere and everywhere, so it doesn't matter where he currently is. Perhaps the key to everything, since this power is apparently fated to be involved in Lord English's downfall. Probably will make some crucial change that completely changes everything in some bizarre way. Rose - Currently getting an unconscious Roxy to a safe distance from the battle. About to have a heart-to-heart with her pseudomom? Dave - Chasing after Jade's corpse in order to save her. Jade - Currently dead, visiting with Calliope and probably helping motivate her to do something. Jane - Mind-controlled by the Batterwitch, who wanted someone to teach all her backstabbing and aggressive ways to. I can't remember what happened to her after she failed to revive Jade. The key to breaking the mind control will probably be sufficiently pissing her off. Roxy - Unconscious after trying to take down Aranea. Maybe she will join Calliope in the dreambubbles again? Her body is being carried to safety by Rose. About to have a heart-to-heart with her pseudomom? Jake - Had all the concussion-related damage to his brain healed, then powered up, then killed. Will presumably revive on his own. Unknown whether he'll still be quite such an ignoramus. Fated, according to Aranea, to play a crucial role in the 'first' defeat of Lord English (probably English-possessed Jack). Dirk - Still flying in from the edge of the solar system. Should be there soon. Karkat - With Kanaya near the big battle. Currently target of anger: Gamzee, for acting like such a tool. Aradia - One of the few people that didn't ditch Vriska. Hanging around, waiting to see what happens when everything breaks. Tavros - Dead. Peaced out after getting fed up with Vriska. Might do something important in the end, might not. Sollux - Peaced out after getting fed up with Vriska. Probably won't do anything important. Nepeta - Dead. Millions of copies double-died. Probably has no more role to play in this story. Kanaya - With Karkat near the big battle. Terezi - Fighting with Gamzee. Vriska - Dead. Frustrated, because everyone abandoned her, and then Aranea went and did the whole mind-control-to-get-the-ring plan that early Vriska would have done. Being pals with Meenah. Currently doesn't feel like interfering, will probably change her mind later, because, geez, Meenah and Vriska teamup has to do something. Equius - Dead. Merged with AR. Gamzee - ??? The ultimate mystery. Whose side is he on? Which actions did he do while mind-controlled? Which actions were his own? Is he a mad genius, a total idiot, or a personification of chaos? Does Hussie know the answer to this, or is he just making it up as he goes along? We have no idea. Went into a rage after being repeatedly stabbed, and is now taking it out on Terezi. Eridan - Dead. No one cares what happens to Eridan. Feferi - Dead. Hanging out with Sollux and Nepeta. Probably has no more role to play in this story. Calliope - Dead. Hanging out with Jade in her special paradox-space hidey-hole. Aranea - Alive-via-ring. Currently has had all her plans immediately fall apart, and is making GBS threads bricks because HIC has shown up. Meenah - Dead. Frustrated with Aranea's actions. Being pals with Vriska. Other Beforan Trolls - Dead. Who cares about these chumps? They're mad-expendable. Davesprite and Arquiusprite - Hanging out, doing all the catching up that Dave and Dirk should have done. Will probably hatch a plan of their own? PM - Guarding Jade's corpse The Mayor - ??? I can't remember if we saw what happened to him after Dave saved him on LOHAC. Ms. Paint - Hanging out with MC-Jack Jack Noir - Guarding Jade's corpse Midnight-Crew Jack, Alpha Jack - Flying in from the edge of the system Caliborn's Jack - Probably dead, we don't need another Jack to muck things up. ...this might mean he'll show up. Lord English - Currently popping dreambubbles while looking for his dead sister. Sort of a unthinking puppet of Caliborn, I guess? The Felt - Currently under the command of MC-Jack. Doc Scratch - Dead, but nothing says he can't send a message or two before his death. Just smug enough for his role in the story not to be 100% done. Her Imperial Condescension - Just showed up in her battleship, imbued with a whole set of psychic powers, and loving pissed. Will shortly be loving everyone's poo poo up, probably. Caliborn - The last boss, probably. After clearing out Lord English, HIC, and Jack English, they'll need to curtail Caliborn somehow so he doesn't just do this over and over again. I doubt they'll just fight him. He's a symbol of being unable to grow up. Whatever the defeat, it'll be symbolic in some way. Andrew Hussie (the character) - The secret extra boss???? Technically, as the one that empowered Caliborn in the first place, and as the one controlling the actions of all the characters, he is anathema to the themes of growing up, making decisions, and living a good life. I feel like part of the epilogue is going to be kicking him out of the story, so that the characters can't be messed with anymore.

Oh, god, I just realized: After Roxy's drunken writing about characters trapped in a story, and with the whole of Homestuck being these characters trapped in 'a story' (predestination loops), it's basically inevitable that the way you defeat Caliborn (without killing him) is trap him somehow. Either a time loop (he is a time player...) or actually literally trap him in his own lovely, badly-drawn story.
