Carl and Ellie from Pixar's UP. In a wordless montage prologue we see the course of their married life which is blissful until a jarring left turn when we find out Ellie miscarried/is infertile. Seeing all the Disney Princesses with children and then her at the end is just a lovely reminder of that unexpected twist of life's knife both for the character and the sympathetic audience. It's also notable for being one of the most realistic pitch black turns that shows up in a goddamn family movie about a man who goes on a wacky adventure with talking dogs. You can see it here.
