there's a mod called long war that's eternally coming out that keeps the thread alive mostly i say eternally coming out, because basically the developers are obsessed to the point of creepiness with imposing their ultra hardcore spergvision on the game, which isnt really a bad thing because it's a mod and who cares and also because probably a solid half of their ideas are actually good, but they do it in the worst way possible aka by adding a hundred and one sperg features to every 1 bugfix they release i'm not even remotely exaggerating when i say the last 3 beta releases have had major bugs that rendered the game uncompletable, rendered a large percentage of the content they've haphazardly crammed into it useless or inaccessible, or, more commonly, both their solutions to these bugs are typically to release a hex edit that will fix it and then sit on an actual released bugfix for a month+...at which point they release a ton of new spergy features on top of it that breaks something else. this is further enriched by the fact that there's a handful of ultra rabid long war zealots in the thread like amanasleep, who recently got the xcom: enemy within thread locked by being a loving idiot about the mod and led a 2-page long bitch fit when i had the gall to say 'hey maybe they should fix bugs before adding new features'

Borrowing gamers.txt would be pointless because it basically follows the Imp Zone rules already (the only way you can get probated or banned in gamers.txt is by posting porn AFAIK). Besides there's already a bunch of people shitposting in there.

tu's were fun. they allowed for fun things like multiple modes of fire and more advanced turns. i can understand taking them out but their inclusion is in no way a dealbreaker for me
