Ah yes, I'm sure Geraint Thomas was completely unaware that his team leader abandoned the race. No arguments about Froome being a little bitch who can't handle his bike though

He was hanging around the back of the peloton for almost the entire time between his first and 2nd crashes. Clearly had no confidence in his ability to keep the bike upright.

Until you mentioned that, I'd forgotten about Thomas riding like half the tour with a broken pelvis, too.

Having 10 km of cobblestone roads in wet conditions ahead with a wrist injury must have played some part. Also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steroid-induced_osteoporosis hmm interesting

Quite strong wind for this stage with 35km/h, a chance to create echelons maybe. Lots of roundabouts in the last 5km today.

Who was the dude who broke his collarbone, so rode the next stage with a piece of leather tied to one side of his handlebar, gripping the other end in his teeth to keep it straight? THAT is badassery you will not see again.

He's a great athlete (or responds to doping well at least) but he's a terrible cyclist skill-wise. Compare him to someone like Cancellara who is a loving wizard on a bicycle. Froome is also a whiny bitch and if you get in 3 crashes in 2 days, it's not just bad luck, you had poor control of your bike or bad positioning relative to other riders. Froome is a disgrace and I'm glad he won't be around to win it. Nibali vs Contador will be great. Also @Hegay: loving lol at Rolf Sřrensen, I was shouting "yes!! yess!!" when he was giving Froome poo poo, loved it

I have my doubts, based on how well Wiggins rode PR, he would probably have a minute or more on Porte and possibly be in yellow.

I finally plunked down the $15 for the NBC TDF app. Sick of the 'free' feeds that show 5 minutes of riding and 10 minutes of "we will be right back". Ridiculous

Has it rained much recently? Roads that have been baked by the sun or recently tarmacked are horrendous when wet as they've got tons of oil on the surface.
