My new favorite is aurorus, amaura is also so goddamn adorable. If only it wasn't terrible, any of my favorites tend to look cool/cute and be otherwise useless. Gen 3 probably had the fewest, but it had a few standouts too. Blaziken and Flygon, most notably. I have way too many favorites to list. Makes it easy to make teams containing my favorites, quite frankly.

G1 classics can still sweep. Ditto, Gengar, Dragonite are my staples. My favorites are subjective to generationally and/or thematically structured teams. Jirachi brings me luck as a keychain. There's something to like about even the 'lame' ones. Breeding is more involved in the competitiveness of Pokemon than any amount of simulating and calculating and random number generating. We make your team possible, attacks and natures probable, unlikely combinations palpable. Do it once and they're yours forever. Two complimentary 3 or 4 stat Ditto is legendary status for breeders... edit: ...until we don't even need them anymore.

Well, if I wanna choose a SINGLE, #1 favourite Pokemon out of the 700+, I would probably say its the King of Dragons: Dragonite! Not only its hella powerful, but it was also among my favourite Pokemon when I was a kid. I suppose it was mostly due to the final Orange Islands Gym Battle in the anime, but goddamn it was a cool episode that really featured how powerful the King of Dragons is! And lastly... well this might sound weird but I've tend to attribute the Pokemon I use in my party with certain personality traits, and I have always imagined Dragonite as the benevolent yet powerful and charismatic leader of the party. But whatever Dragonite owns. Honorable mention goes to Gothitelle whom I've also considered at some points to be my favourite Pokemon due to its super cool and trendy design, being the only Pokemon who can utilize it's ability, Shadow Tag, in such fun ways without being broken, and how I envision her as the calm and cold hearted tactician of my party. Gothitelle is a really rad Pokemon but I just like Dragonite a bit better overall.

Or Flash Fire, which would make no sense until you give it Fire Punch, then it works thematically as well as defensively.

Stealth Rock is pretty lovely in how it segregates types arbitrarily but it doesn't create no-win situations in the way a full Baton Pass team can.
