Also got my personal best on Mustang thanks to a queued up Mustang Multiball, and got over 100 mil on Twilight Zone despite the game trying to load a second ball into the mix outside of multiball.

Nice going, that's a really solid score.

In other news word got leaked that a new kickstarter is being announced with today's newsletter. They said it's an expensive one. All signs point to TAF I guess although it could potentially be something else too. Maybe a new stern? Simpsons Pinball Party? Who knows, stay tuned (probably TAF).

I don't know what it is with those games, but both TZ and STTNG seem to be constantly plagued with ball count issues.

I'm wary about this, since I backed Terminator and there's still no release date for season 2 on PS4. But I'll probably end up throwing money at whatever this kickstarter is anyway, especially if it's Simpsons Pinball Party.

nope, I literally only bought T2 and Season One. Most of Season 3 just does not interest me whatsoever, I feel most of the classic poo poo was in S1. S2 has some gold for sure but the majority of the great stuff is in S1.

Nope, that's pretty unanimous. Although I wouldn't say "way" better than 3, just marginally. Three's tables are about as good as the better DMD tables from Season 2, like White Water or Champion Pub. But overall Season 1 is way better than Season 2, yeah.

It's going to be The Shadow and it turns out that Alec Baldwin's likeness fees are really expensive.

I'm not saying that Shadow is a lame table... It's a good one but knowing Farsight, they're claiming that they're gonna have an expensive kickstarter, get everybody thinking it's gonna be TAF then BOOM it's gonna be some goofy movie license table that turns out has really expensive licensing...

maybe it's rollergames.

I was so disappointed by the movie. They should have gotten someone less famous than Alec Baldwin so that there wouldn't have been so much pressure to have him take off the hat and scarf. :argh:

If it's not Addams, it might be The Simpsons. You get two machines for the price of one, and The Simpsons Pinball Party is kind of perfect for TPA given how deep the ruleset is. I would bet that a lot of the more modern Sterns would be pretty good on TPA since there's a bit of meat to the rules.

Or maybe it's Bram Stoker's Dracula, and what everyone thought they got without a Kickstarter is gonna need one.

Does the physical table do a ball search after Lost in the Zone? Basically every other time I get LitZ in TPA a ball gets pinched by the top right flipper and fucks the game real hard.

Amazing, it's almost like maybe Kickstarter isn't supposed to be pre-order system, but a way to fund projects that aren't always commercially viable!

Also if I buy season 3, can I help out with the kickstarter? Or does that basically get added to the kickstarter just by virtue? Obviously if I donate to the kickstarter, it won't give me a discount on the price of S3.

I'm sure everyone already knows by now but here are the latest patch notes from Farsight:

MikeFarSight posted:

Version 1.28.11
- Added High Roller Casino
- Fixed bug with Firepower where balls were stuck in traps if you tilted
- Fixed TILT on black rose staying on screen on next ball
- Fixed camera bug in BOP in 2 player game when player 1 locks a ball, and loses one, when player 2 started the camera would be broken.
- Fixed high wire multiball bug on mulitplayer player games. Wasn't releasing 1 ball at a time when it should have.
- Fixed gorbie gate on Taxi being triggered with hit up right ramp
- LCA - Getting 5 of a kind gives you goal for 4 of a kind.
- Fixed season 1/2 menu back button not working on controller
- Fixed being able to click on season1/2 if you owned all tables in those seasons
- Fixed ball lock lamp in Bride not lighting.
- Fixed TZ multiball issue. Balls now go to autoplunge lane.
- Fixed LCA drop targets
- Fixed Draw order issue on Taxi
- Fixed pop bumper not always scoring on Centaur
- Fixed draw order issue on Harley with transparent ramp
- Fixed draw order issue with flashers on Bride and parts behind them.

I didn't realize it for a while but the game's autoflip function isn't just for Thing Flips, it also times the flippers with the snaps from the theme song when you drain.

More excited about that than the new table. Off to test things out.

Edit - played a game. Went through 2 multiballs with no camera angle issues, and finished a LITZ without any BS. Gumball machine reloaded as it's supposed to when it ended and the game continued as normal. Anecdotal evidence and all, but it might just be fixed.

Tried out High Roller Casino... is it just me or is it a rather mediocre table? Admittedly I find most Stern tables to be 'meh' (The Sopranos is the only table of theirs so far I really like), but this one is like late 80s/early 90s Gottlieb levels of mediocre.

:eng101: TAF was the first game where the CPU could control the flippers. The end-of-ball flips are basically just showing off "look what we can do :smug:"

^ High Roller Casino is a pretty mediocre table, you're not alone. Basically all Stern games until Lord of the Rings had this realy low-budget feel.

A quick question about the monster bash table. The phantom flip thing where the flipper hits the ball for you automatically seems terrible and more likely to hit the ball into nothing or into a drain, am I doing something wrong?

High Roller Casino is from their immediate post Sega phase where they were pretty much still putting out pretty so/so tables. After a few more they got their groove (and hired a bunch of WMS guys), but unfortunately most of those tables are out of TPA's reach. Without Kickstarters or good luck the other Stern games available are Striker Xtreme and Sharkey's Shootout, and neither is anything to write home about. Monopoly is probably attainable, and NASCAR has a brand-less version as "Grand Prix" which they sold in Europe.

Still don’t have a date set for Season Two on PS4.
Season Two will not be cross-buy. We offered a PS4 discount for people that owned the entire Season One Pack on PS3, but I do not think we will be doing the same for season Two.

Also, they'll offer a pass for season 3 tables after all of them have been released.

Nope, you aren't wrong. I actively try to avoid spending a phantom flip because I can't even remember the last time it hit a shot that I couldn't've done more reliably myself.
