Where did the meme of Obama being insanely arrogant come from? My Freepy dad called me yesterday and said that Putin really punked him on the phone (I guess about the airliner shoot-down?) and said that he was worried that this would be what started a war. His reason was that because Obama was "just such an egomaniac that this would be what finally set him off." Presumably this is a narrative that Fox News was pushing atm, because he usually just repeats their bullshit verbatim.

Arrogance is bad, and democrats are bad, so democrats are automatically arrogant. Arrogance also usually carries the connotation of being prideful with no reason to be or setting yourself above everybody else when you don't deserve it. Oblammo does not deserve to be president so obviously he knows it and is just rubbing it in everybody's collective faces by, you know, continuing to be president. It's useful to smear him.

Academia is perceived as being liberally biased, and a lot of the time social sciences (and other sciences, for things like climate change) contradict conservative positions. Assuming you're already conservative, it's not hard to get from there 'liberals are smug jerks who think they're smarter than anyone else'. But yeah there's a reason it's used specifically for Obama, a black person aspiring for a position of power over white people is by definition arrogant by their standards.

Going off on kind of a tangent here but has anyone ever literally "walked around with their nose in the air"? I've never seen this in my life, I assumed it only happened in cartoons, or maybe the distant past. What would even go through someone's head to make them do this? "Well my neck is really getting sore, but if I quit now, I won't look like Scrooge McDuck." Ironically the only time I can imagine this gesture even making sense would be in a situation where you're expected to bow/lower your gaze, and you make a point of refusing to do it. Not something that really comes up that often, but of course it would be Obama who gets called out for this: the one person in America who is criticized by Freep specifically for bowing too much. Googling "nose in the air" isn't much help but I do notice that 3 out of the first 5 image results are pictures of Obama, so I guess this is a thing. Argh.

Nobody really, physically, does it, but you see a lot of it as you said, in cartoons, or on Vince McMahon in the WWE. It's a way to visibly show that someone thinks they're above everybody else. So, basically, they're marking hard on Obama's heel turn.

Posture was considered huge in the past so the rich would stand up very straight, put on a haughty expression, and look down at those dirty, damned peasants, who were no doubt doing back-breaking labor all day. Or just stare off at the horizon and not notice them at all. There is also some "aversion of the gaze" stuff going on in that if you look upward you're deliberately looking away from people. If you are deliberately looking away from somebody you're deliberately not noticing them and declaring them unworthy of your attention. Staring up and away from the peasantry is a good way of declaring "I am better than you. So much better that you are beneath my notice. Begone." The right generally wants to play itself up as a blue collar party of regular working class joes who just love America and Israel and apple pie so they try to pain the left as a bunch of stuck up elitists out of touch with salt of the earth types. It's weird that they're criticizing Obama for being Harvard educated when their darling Bush was too. He went to Yale and Harvard.

He was like their version of the Koch brothers with the exception of not actually engaging on anything like the scale they have, while being blamed for way more than they are. There was a stretch of time where Glenn Beck and everyone below his paygrade would say just about anything they didn't like was funded by Soros.

I suppose I was vainly hoping there would be a spark of dissonance where turbo-billionaire makes billions using this one billionaire trick, just like they idolize elsewhere. I know I shouldn't expect any depth beyond "rich guy who likes LIEbrul things" at this point, but is it too much to hope that Freep is right about us holding all the pieces of Liberal Exodia?
