Mandrake is one of the worst and least coherent strips in this thread but I can't wait to see what kind of stuff Falk/Fredericks came up with for the Earth's future in 50,000 years, and likewise the evidence of the usual obvious struggle between ambitious script and lazy art. For similar reasons, I'm legitimately on the edge of my loving seat about Mary Worth.

The guy didn't cheat, he won it fair and square and taking it back in public would make them look weak, even if the winner actually wants to give it back. Doesn't stop them from mugging and killing the guy the moment he gets out of sight though.

I don't know why you guys hate on Mandrake so much. It's been a hell of a lot more interesting than The Mary Sue Who Walks for at least a couple years now.

It's pretty okay, but it is pretty prone to taking several forevers to do anything. That said, frog aliens was absolutely amazing.

Heads up, thread: The auction for the Bill Watterson Pearls Before Swine strips has gone live. Needless to say, the going rate for all three is a little out of the typical goon's price range, but remember - the money's going to fund Parkinson's research!

Retail Well he also mana... Actually, I haven't seen Cooper do anything that I'd call management. Sometimes he stands around piles of boxes. Seriously gently caress this corporate nonsense. They should just give me money and I shouldn't have to give them any reason to. Bleeker the Rechargeable Dog 'Cause video games. That's where the video games are. You should give that to Karl. It'd be like the perfect gift for him. What could go wrong? Dustin Shocking new development: everyone in the Dustin-verse is an rear end in a top hat. Playing with two basketballs? On the Fastrack It's actually just "9". Presumably computer entities can understand hexadecimal just fine too. You know, Holbrook must have done several dozen wedding storylines over the past 30 years across three different comics. I think this is the fourth one in just two years. Safe Havens "Nah, knowing them they'd only survive about a week." What are you talking about? It's like a picturesque tropical paradise. You can even golf there. Gil Feuti puts a lot more effort into this comic that's in one paper than the one he actually gets paid for. It's really amazing. Retail Mmm...melted plastic. Looks tasty. Also this drat comic is causing me to get browser ads for Macy's and Sears. Fantastic. Bleeker the Rechargeable Dog I thought that said "dry ice". Now wouldn't that be even more fun to cannonball into than a kiddie pool full of water. Dustin Uh yeah, it's like the greatest reward incentive ever. Modesty Blaise So, small historical note. Starting in December 1974, the Evening Standard dropped their Saturday issue. While they didn't publish, many of the other papers Modesty ran in still came out on Saturdays. Instead of leaving them hanging, O'Donnell and Romero created strips numbered with xxxxA for them. You'll be seeing them for the rest of Modesty's run.
