Just have samus fight barefoot If her feet have to be rockets well maybe her actual feet can act like rockets, she has some alien dna in her so you can't say her feet can't shoot flames

Captain Toad would be interesting in that he is a character that can't jump. Maybe he just wills ladders into existence when he needs to get up high.

Samus's neon jet heels are awesome, I admit I thought they were really stupid when we first saw them but after seeing ZSS in motion at the E3 tournament I realized how completely sick as hell those heels are, they add a lot of visual pop to her design that she didn't really have before. Also I love this drawing drat.

I like how that art actually makes the heels look better by changing the outfit and fulling the awful yellow to a shade that matches the rest of the design. If they looked like that they'd be a lot less lovely. Edit: Seriously, I'd rather play as Summer Day Out Samus, cheerfully smashing Metroids while on her way to the park. Project M guys, get on it.
