I remembered last night I have a new rear-exhaust section bought for my 107 sitting in the shed I'd been egged on by co-workers telling me I could change it myself, before common sense kicked in reminding me I only have a half scissor jack and a sloped driveway. If anyone wants it (I seem to remember someone on here having an Aigo) then I'd swap it for a beer

You could probably replace it without even using the jack if you parked up a big curb - though the bolts that hold it on are behind the rear wheel so it is easier to reach with that off.

Gonna have to start giving up late night burgers Back in May when I had my wreck I ended up checking into the ER the next day with my BP at 220/139. Since then I've given up all red meat and most carbs. I've lost 9 pounds and I'm on a myriad of drugs. Earlier in the year I was 135/90, which is where I've been for a long time. Why suddenly the jump isn't known. Watch that poo poo careful if you have any signs of essential hypertension. I felt nothing wrong, walked into the ER under my own power with that BP. Buy a BP monitor on Amazon, check that poo poo once a day. Good ones can be found around $50.

You have to port pig valves a lot or they shroud on the upper chamber. A lot of surgeons just want to replace parts and don't bother increasing the VE or compression ratio of the heart when they've got it open, but you can get maybe another 20, 30 bpm of seriously good grunt out of the top end if you do. The OEM left a lot of performance on the table, probably so they could make some headroom for emissions on their luxury models.

Saved about $500 right there at least. I already have a decent Omron machine at home; I've been using it twice a day, plus monitoring my blood sugar twice a day, in addition to diet changes and medications. Anyway, they couldn't confirm my insurance would even pay for a penny (... probably because Dexter McDyslexic typed up all my info, the only thing they got right was my DOB and street name... wrong city entirely, wrong zip code, wrong SSN, wrong phone #, wrong middle initial, wrong county), so I got discharged after a couple of banana bags, a couple of shots of Ativan, and a rather impressively sized script for Librium + Zofran + Phynergan. Plus an appointment at an IOP clinic today, except... don't know how they expect me to drive on the amount of Librium I'm rX'd for the next few days.

I just got done pulling 40 CAT5e cables for a remodel and the office next door just lost all their phones. Thought maybe I sliced through a trunk with the pull string and started freaking out. Luckily we found out the in-house phone guy here was dicking around with the phone cross connects and went to lunch in the middle of it.

There's a hospital in-town that has two "campuses" that share the same parking lot, and they don't allow people to walk between one or the other. They call us and we literally put them in the ambulance, drive around the block (the parking lot is divided) and it's a one-way loop), and then charge them for .1 miles of travel, which is $8, plus whatever the base cost is ($600 for BLS [EMT/EMT] interfacility [IF], $800 for ALS [EMT/Medic], or $1200 for ALS2 or SPC [EMT/Nurse-or-Specialist]). gently caress privatized EMS

Somehow I've avoided high blood pressure despite it running in the family, I'm usually sitting around 90-100/60-70. Last time I very stupidly drove myself to the hospital and checked into the ER I was around 70/40. I just assumed I was horribly dehydrated which I was but also had other poo poo going on as usual. Always a bad sign when they bring in another machine or more people to re-check, also bad when they immediately hook up a heart monitor. Then they didn't want to discharge me until I hit their 'normal' range of 120/80 or something which I am never at. Took talking to 3 of my old doctors to convince them I ran a little low. rscott posted:gently caress privatized healthcare in general

Not sure it counts as a job yet, but if this keeps up I'll have a car again by the end of next month easy.

Sluicing and detecting mostly, the pans for sampling to find a good spot mate. I'm not exactly getting by off it quite yet, but it certainly helps. I'm erratically employed in casual work, usually about 1-6 months a year depending on what I can pick up and never really seem to get onto fulltime. The dole helps but we live paycheck to paycheck a lot of the time so this is one of my little hustles to try and change that situation.
