I cant decide between Dragonfly, Firecat, or Recluse frames. And a stupid question, where can I find the Army panel so I can apply? I'm not seeing it in the social panel or any of the others. Do I need to find a special terminal in game?

Grrr... Stupid bone chips. That's the biggest road block to my crafting. I've dropped thumpers all over but cannot find a good way to farm them like I can farm all the others. Anyone find a good method to get more than 4-5 per thumper?Kikilupo posted:I cant decide between Dragonfly, Firecat, or Recluse frames. There's a brief description of each frame in the OP. As for the terminal, go to options->keybindings->social and set Army to a key. Far easier than using the terminals in Copa. Inimicul fucked around with this message at 19:18 on Jul 22, 2014 |

^^^^ goddammit I knew itKikilupo posted:I cant decide between Dragonfly, Firecat, or Recluse frames. Assuming you're in Copacabana, in the back corner of the base you'll see a big majestic white metal Accord bunker, there you'll find army terminals as well as the arcporter for travel to other zones. I'm still getting to used to this revamped interface after not seriously playing the game for like 1.5-2 years so there is probably another way as well that doesn't involve a terminal thing!

I recently hit 40 on my Engineer and I'm sort of hurting for research points now. What's the fastest way to get crap items to salvage for points? I'm guessing thumping is the way to go, but are there other methods that are almost as fast?

You'll be rolling in RP before you know it.

Recluse was amazing at killing everything, but drat was it boring. Just right click anywhere remotely close to an enemy whilst tapping space bar.

Plus, every time you hit a group of enemies with your AoE primary, you've effectively multiplied your DPS by however many enemies there were. And enemies in this game group up a lot. It can get somewhat boring but the bio-crossbow is just so good and it can have some great skills, my favorite setup is Healing wave, Creeping Death, Evacuate, and Necrosis it just lets you do so much aoe damage and you get healed for all the damage your weapon does. And if you need items for salvage or organic parts there are a few spots in DT where you can drop a squad 3 thumper and get tons due all the chosen and bugs spawning in one little area ready to AoE.

I think after I finish my Tigerclaw to 40, I'm gonna roll a Firecat. That frame seems like fun. Oh, and I found you can hit your HKM key again to manually detonate your Tigerclaw HKM. I've gotten used to doing this to avoid it bouncing off into the sky. It really is fantastic for managing big swarms of enemies. I'm really happy with the direction they took with instances. That old Diamondhead one where you had free reign in the small little lava area where you had to thump for 5 minutes in order to progress in hopes that RNG favored you was awful.

Did a bunch of squad 3 thumping with goons today in low-level areas. It frequently spawned like 5-10 tightly packed drop pods of chosen towards the end, which was immensely fun. You'd just charge around through this big herd of enemies firing everything you had in every direction and getting constant killstreaks and an inventory full of drops. Eventually we even found a place that spawned chosen for the regular enemies, too.

I visited the Turik Raiders zone. Is very cool. I even had a fight players vs tornado vs chosen under some allied space ship thing. I have good vibes for the game, mixed with the old vibes. Like... they seems to have nerfed the ARES system, that was mostly okay, and replaced it with a crappy quest system that have you walking broken areas to fight a few crappy npc's Of the new areas, I like these that are easy to navigate, and hate these that seems designed to have you play bumping cars with your LGV. I burned trough 1 million science xp and crystite doing some basic unlocking on the crafting. Looking back, I should not have unlocked the XXL health kits for 100.000 cy. Maybe.

I used the scan hammer a lot around the low level areas searching for green resource nodes last night. I had a hard time finding any. Did I just have bad luck or is it not worth hunting those down until I advance a bit more into other zones?

Especially between Sunken Harbor and Stonewall. North of Copa I can usually only find Iron.

I was in this group and can vouch for how fun it was - we were getting EDF-levels of slowdown on some of the more intense Thumps when Chosen decided to show up 5 pods at a time, plus Melded Culexes and Hissers by the truckload. I got to run through them time after time as my Biotech, poo-gassing everyone to death and then spraying them with my HKM's delicious sludge. 10/10, would Thump again.

Dammit, I can't decide which frame I want to hit 40 on first, Arsenal or Dragonfly. I'm a pretty drat casual player and play a couple hours every few days so it will take me quite a while, so this is a big choice! I like the usefulness of the Dragonfly with other people, and the "healing" abilities loving rule at damaging groups. Arsenal however is beast mode, and the HKM ability is the greatest thing in the entire world.

Has someone bothered to make a map of ARES board event spawn locations? With a group of 3-4 people you could probably lock down every stage of a mission and complete them really quickly.

Though I suppose if you were to hop in and out of the area, it forces the mission segment to re-roll it's location.

We tried that before. It's doable. The leader at the job board, three other people at the usual spawn locations, and maybe a 5th for whatever reason. You could blow through jobs pretty fast but the rewards scaled based on participation.

So seriously what is the Power Level stat and why should I care? The only difference between a level 30ish rare ROF mod and a level 7 rare ROF mod is the power level. I'm trying to figure out what Power Level even does and if it's just easier to craft a bunch of rare level 7 mods to stick in my guns.

It is basically your Frames Power level, literally as it increase a bunch of stuff but two important ones are Health and Damage. I think it was 1% Health bonus per 1 Power added.

Power Level is the main way to boost your damage output - 1 Power = 1% Damage boost. You're going to feel very, very underpowered if you do that.
