Killzone did cloaking right (at least KZ2). If you activated it, you would remain invisible if you moved slowly. If you ran the camo would kind of stutter, and it dropped completely once you fired your weapon and went on cooldown which lasted a few seconds. You could still spot a fully-cloaked sniper if you knew what to look for. That would work since most pubbies are actually terrible shots and would spend more time out of cloak than in it. It would also make hushing goddamn hilarious.

I don't think Sledgehammer is going to mess up implementing a cloaking system in MP. They've been talking a lot about supporting the competitive scene and an OP cloaking ability would go against that sentiment.

That makes no sense, because pretty much all of these games by definition are closed systems with no random elements. Everything is a known quantity (Halo Warthog collisions and C4 launching boats in BF4 notwithstanding).

"Competitive" COD is 12 people running the same layout on the same 2 maps and it's boring as gently caress.
