Paradox devs, please buy the rights to those images and use them in the relevant games, tia. I can't understand the unification of Germany in V3 without also masturbating to tit inflation porn.

We would need to license the Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball physics engine to do it justice and I'm not sure we can afford that. Another glorious dream crushed by the harshness of our capitalist reality.

Just go all in on the marriage politics aspect of CK2 and make an outright dating sim, that way you can just hire a Japanese guy to draw everything and not worry about physics engines or 3D graphics or any of that stuff.

Isn't there already some anime feudal politics game? Also this accurately represents the problem with blobbing in EU: http://i.imgur.com/8MONBkJ.jpg

Yes, there is a game like this, it is called Long Live the Queen. Also, I think that "Historines" thing deserves a mention in the PYF Weirdest Fanart thread and/or a mock thread on GBS all on its own, because holy poo poo, it's like staring into a massive, rubbery shiny anime rabbit hole...

As a palette cleanser, here's a EUIV/history themed photo I took yesterday morning, and is thus kosher for posting in the Paradox thread:quote:the fecond Year of the Era of the French Liberty And here's one I took this afternoon that isn't particularly Paradox related, but does have a cautionary moral...

How do we know about this connection, exactly? I don't think Svip (the Ulm guy) is the brainchild behind this stuff. It's more likely that he's just the source of country personalities, given that he has knowledge of history. Most of the pictures don't even have the attribution to him, it seems. (Source: he's a good friend IRL.) And this is totally the most accurate dramatisation of the second Punic War.

How does someone even pick up a giantess-with-balloon-breasts fetish, anyway. It seems like something that would already have to exist for people to want to produce. A practical joke or dare between manga artists? And then a 13 year old sees it and says "drat that's hot"?

The short version of the consensus from modern psychology is basically by accident, the mechanism that makes you sexually attracted to something just happened to chose something weird by accident. The metaphor I heard is that its kinda like taste in food.

I never said it was any good! What would a game that was just the character/education events of CK2 and marriage even be like, though? I can only imagine a medieval themed The Sims. Or maybe the Princess Maker series? A combination between the two!

DrSunshine posted:I can only imagine a medieval themed The Sims. Good news: It's actually surprisingly good, it's not just "The Sims, with a medieval skin," the gameplay revolves around quests that are basically just CK2's multiple-choice events, and all the different character classes have very different gameplay styles and quests. If you're looking for a game that's just CK2's events in a non-grand-strategy setting, this is probably the closest you can get.

Guy who plays lots and lots of mapgames and makes comic-laden AARs about a small German city-state is into some kinky stuff? I wish I could say I was shocked, but not really. Better watch out for Quill18, probably has some skeletons in his closet too.

nutranurse posted:...Spain's just a big-breasted, conjoined twin making out with itself. It represents the tension between the modern nation-state on one hand and the traditional importance attached to decentralization and the fueros on the other hand. Franco, leading an uneasy coalition of conservatives and fascists, never managed to overcome this paradox, espousing a modernist united Spain and suppressing regional identities while simultaneously claiming to stand for traditional Spanish values. The failure of this approach is one of the major catalysts of the centrifugal forces present in today's Spain, though it's possible this was unavoidable either way, considering how late Spanish nation-building got underway. This man is a master of allegorical symbolism.
