Yes... but you should stick to Skirmish battles anyway. Yes, it will take longer to increase your caps, but you'll need all the materials you can get.

The Unicorn Full Armor was really confusing until I realized it was actually modelling all the weapons getting used up an discarded. Then I was really disappointed at how bare-bones the final form was until I used burst and realized that reloaded everything.

Which is good because the first form is hilariously powerful. Every button you push causes everything in front of you to vanish after ten seconds of explosions.

is there a faster method of getting materials then just farming them in skirmishes? getting everything to 50 is going to take forever and i already have every officer so it's so insanely boring even with the weapon materials doubling 'trick'

Not really, but what you wanna do is upgrade the barracks to max ASAP so you can do the last Weapon Material region to speed things up a bit. Also, if you add an officer to the farm they sometimes give you materials, as does feeding your animals once you unlock the stalls.

Speaking of, other than adding an officer to the farm or training ground, does adding officers to any other facility even do anything?

Upgrade the Merchant last. At level 50, his material trade rate is 1:1 instead of 2:1 - good once you've maxed out your facilities, but awful if you're still working on them.

This so hard, I remember playing the DW3 demo and yeah it was only 10 minutes. My brother and I ended up rushing down to see what would happen if we beat it in time. We were so wide eyed and innocent about the game that we went and rented the game itself.

What would you say the worst stage in DW/SW/SB history is?

my vote is for Date's stage in SB3, if only because it's gimmickly is annoying and binary. You either have a character who can outspeed Masamune (Yoshitsugu, Sorin, Ujimasu) and the stage is easy, or you're someone else and you might as well develop a macro for it and go read a good book for the first and penultimate 2 minutes of the level.

I recently got DW8 on sale through Steam, and have been playing it as warm-up to getting Hyrule Warriors when that comes out. Is it worth getting Warriors Orochi 3 on another system?

I wouldn't mind having co-op on the TV I could try with people, and Warriors Orochi 3 seems to have a ludicrous amount of characters. Plus the Wii U edition is $10 used or $15 new in Best Buy apparently. BUT now I find that there's also an Ultimate edition of the game coming out soon for PS4 which would have Sophitia from Soul Calibur too!

Is it worth spending money on a Warriors Orochi game, or should I just wait for Hyrule Warriors like I was planning on?

Are you enjoying DW8? WO3 uses DW7 models for the DW characters, and is a little different, plus the story is batshit insane. However, you're basically running around beating up people in crazy what-if scenarios with three dudes you can swap between at will. Also, the PS4 version will likely jam more enemies on screen if you wanna kill an extra ton of dudes at once.

Basically, Hyrule Warriors will likely be more interesting and varied overall, but if you're cool with crazy poo poo and want to run around as Asian dudes and dudettes taking down armies, WO3 is good.

It's worth explaining why.

So, your forces, whoever they may be, are attacking the Nanman. There are frequent, periodic events that drain your morale due to the harsh climate. And you're already on bad morale as it is. The Nanman stage has it's base difficulty set really high(Since it's one of the last stages you'll do), so enemies are at their most aggressive and damaging, and there are many of them.

This mass is actually a good thing, since Morale is still a major thing. You need to start killing and keep killing to get morale under control so your allies can get enough morale that THEY start earning 50/100 kills and keeping everyone else's morale up despite the events. If you manage it, iit's a wonderful thing. If you don't it turns into a nightmare as you're pushed back to your main camp and going nuts killing and eventually dying, or your commander drops. Or you might get 1000 but this is the time of relatively small spawns-the 1000 super-power was effectively 'fine, have the map you crazy guy'.

All this and you need to deal with the various traps scattered through the map and Meng Huo, who will attack and respawn 7 times throughout all this.

People complain about the depth of field a lot, and I admit I have no idea what it's about. I've never seen an issue with DW8's graphics, and the only thing I noticed when I turned off depth of field is that fire effects caused way more slowdown.

Ever since the PS4 patch for DW8, I've been noticing big slowdowns whenever there's a lot of units on the map. I had maybe put in 35+ hours to this point, and not once gotten a single slowdown, and I've had at least 5 in the last 2 hours of playing, including one where it was basically going a frame a second for a good 10 seconds before it caught up.

Don't forget the poison water that damages you constantly whenever you stand in it, but doesn't hurt enemies. Then there's also the fact that half of the routes through the level are inaccessible without you riding an elephant to knock poo poo out of the way.

Maybe I have broken eyes, but with depth of field on, the effect was so strong and constant that my eyes were trying to focus the entire time while I was playing, leading to eye strain. I had to look away from the screen to give my eyes some rest and just gave up playing until the patch came out.

Man I'll tell you guys what's bullshit, is Lu Bu's campaign in DW8XL. The reason it is bullshit is that Lu Bu is completely correct - I can tear through any number of enemy soldiers and generals. I don't need tactics or strategy, the most I need to concern myself with is making sure Lingqi doesn't get hurt, and Zhang Liao is competent enough for that.

Ya know, except when he keeps falling for forged letters claiming that his capital is under siege and will fall sooner than he can defeat the enemy in front of him but not so quickly that he can't get back in time...

... the story of Lu Bu vs. Cao Cao encounters in RTKXI.

P.S. *Sees Wu Guotai* Officially, her role in the Liu-Sun marriage alliance plotting if played at all like in the novel (as opposed to a mere marriage alliance as depicted in DW7-DW8) would be awkward. :staredog:
