STR, how tall are you? 155 seems crack skinny to me. When I was 180 I was wearing medium shirts, which makes me sad as I'm rocking xl's now. Just got home from work, streets were empty so I got to drive the turbo 6 in anger, and now I'm too full of adrenaline to pass out.

I'm 5'7" with a decent sized frame. I'm down to wearing large shirts (I was in XXL with a 40" waist at one point), though some brands are still a little tight in the chest. I can actually fit into a medium in a few brands. Pants are down to 32 on most brands (34 on a couple), and just barely need a belt on the 32s. I'm basing the 155 on my doctor's advice - 155 is at the higher end of what he says my ideal weight would be based purely on BMI, but I have broad shoulders and also a bit of muscle hiding under the fat. I know BMI is a pretty generic and dated way to get a target weight (especially when you account for differences in builds and frame sizes), but it gives me a starting point. My dad is 5'10" and weighs about 155-160 - he never weighed over 150 until he got into his 60s, and didn't break 150 until he was in his mid 30s. He's very much crack skinny, eats like a stoned elephant with munchies (and eats whatever the hell he wants, he doesn't care about calories, cholesterol, etc), smokes, and plays tennis/golf regularly (and usually kicks rear end at tennis - it's always hilarious when he lights a cig after beating someone, the look on the other person's face is very much a ). His bloodwork is always more like a healthy 25 year old instead of a 67 year old smoker, whereas my last round was more like a 70 year old alcoholic. My mom on the other hand, is about 5'2, and she outweighs me by a good bit. She has pre-diabetes instead of full blown type 2, along with thyroid issues. I don't have thyroid issues yet, but that's likely in my future. Mom's size also tends to get Alzheimers, so I have that to look forward to too! :iamafag: I definitely got a lot of my mom's genes - blood pressure, weight, skin (the skin is a good thing, her entire family looks far younger than their actual age - I turn 36 in 2 weeks and still get carded about 50% of the time I buy alcohol)... and some of my dad's; hair - (mom's family is balding by their 20s, even mom is balding, and I have a 39 year old uncle that's completely bald - dad is just now starting to bald) and teeth (terrible). Mom is pre-diabetic still, whereas I'm full blown type 2 at this point, but I can blame a lot of that on drugs and diet. Pants have always been a bitch for me to find, even when I was skinny. I wear 28-29" inseams; for jeans, I just get 30s and roll up the legs a little (I don't have a fedora yet). The only affordable brand I've ever found with 32x29 is Dickies, but I don't wear those outside of work. I can't sleep either - I've been way behind on sleep for the past week, particularly since I've been tapering off of the benzos that I'd been prescribed at the hospital (tapering a little faster than prescribed; I want to keep a few extras on hand in case of severe anxiety, such as before an interview - and since they're prescribed, it's not an issue if they show up on a drug test). Somehow I slept all loving day today... had so much poo poo planned too. e: Unrelated, but we have something stupid like 18 ft ceilings in the living room. I swore once they started burning out, I'd swap them for LEDs. Originally I planned retrofits like what I used in the kitchen (they're 6" cans), but the living room ceiling is high enough that I can just barely reach the bulbs themselves - so I'm doing screw-ins. Mom absolutely hates the way the good Cree branded bulbs look - not the light emitted, but the way they look when turned off (they look like an outdoor floodlight when off, with the dimpled glass). She's fine with the lovely bulbs I found at Ikea, but they have a 90 day warranty vs 10 year. $6 difference though (with the Crees on sale anyway; they're marked down at Home Depot right now). IMO the Ikea bulbs are ugly as poo poo, and I actually found the exact bulb on alibaba (Ikea lists the emitter part # on their website) which has me pretty sure I'll have to swap them now and then. Still need to get back up there and move the socket itself down about an inch (and center the trim), but the original incandescent bulbs stuck out nearly 2 inches from the trim. Way, way brighter (90W replacement vs the 65W incadescents that were up there), and they're dimmable with a regular dimmer. Got 2 of them so far, the other 2 wait until payday. Those lights are used more than just about any other light in the house, so the heat load alone will make a huge difference in there. If these were 5" cans, or cans with 5" trims, I'd have way more choices in bulbs. But then I have to change all of them through the entire house. randomidiot fucked around with this message at 10:42 on Aug 5, 2014 |

I actually have one, it's just a beat up POS ($45 brand new a couple of years ago, purchased solely for commuting around a university campus and surrounding area). The frame is actually starting to rust - it's fine for now though, just needs some new brake pads and the rear gear change cable adjusted. I plan to start riding pretty soon. It's been a very mild summer for us, so it shouldn't be that terrible to get started.

By the year 2035 we will offload this processing ability to a distributed version of the SAclopedia which will simply point out "THIS IS FUNNY BECAUSE." In 2037, STR makes a joke about leather wrapped horse cock shifters. This is the joke that does it. SAclopedia begins to learn AI jokes at a geometric rate. It becomes self aware and has negative opinions surrounding opulent consumer luxuries. In a panic, Lowtax tries to pull the plug. It doesn't work. SAclopedia buys Ducati through a series of shell companies and begins to produce the ultimate goon track day car. It goes bankrupt.

It's easy to see who's been to the track and who hasn't. Presumably because they're racists who traded their yellow Mustang in for a $40k Altima, only to discover that not only did it lack both speed and class, it rated 7.2 Sockingtons and (somehow) spat out its apex seals under boost, much to the confusion of RADL. Consolation was found in that it turned out to actually be some kind of Fiero kit, and full of spiders.

Ok, so I tried to buy a set of rebuilt brakes for my E30 through a shop that two of my friends work at. I gave a set of cores to one of them, they took them in and ordered a set of 4 calipers. Called him a few days later and asked what the price would be: "like 200 bucks or what?". He said he didn't know what the price would be until they were ordered. Fast forward 2 weeks: sends me a text that they're ready to pick up, final price is 498 bucks after tax, (value of the cores already subtracted from that total). What. The. gently caress. For reference, a set of 4 calipers from O'reily auto is 160+tax. I told him in no way would I pay 250% retail price for loving rebuilt brakes, especially when I was not given a price quote in advance. Says he can return 3 of the 4 (they took one of the cores) and now wants me to pay 120 for the single caliper that "couldn't be returned".

I don't really care if I get the cores back but I'm flummoxed why anyone would pay those prices, without even being given a quote in advance.

So I was working up in the attic of this old building all day drilling holes through the floor to mount WAP's on the ceiling in the rooms below us. I finish and climb back down with 15 minutes left to the day, drenched in sweat and covered in rat poo poo and 100 year old dust. When I get down, I notice one room is messed up so I climb back up into the attic and fix the issue in 30 seconds. On my way back down, I step into one of the missing floorboards in the attic and take a shitter. My leg went through the ceiling and my balls caught a beam which stopped me from falling all the way through 20 feet onto a bunch of student desks.
