I find this restriction on summoning to be really backwards too. Got summoned in combat? TOO BAD. On a taxi? Nope. On the wrong one of four continents(?). TRY AGAIN. Is it really that gamebreaking to be able to summon reliably?

Also I think it's hilarious to have broken one of the most useful and organic functions in the game because they are trying not to get shitcanned by ncsoft when people publish their numbers. I use /who to find people who might help with zone quests, to see what class someone asking for something is, to see what guildies and friends are actually doing without having to bother them about it. Hell you can't even tell what people in your guild are doing because I assume that functionality is tied to /who.

I mean, there's having a lot of bugs, and there's intentionally breaking one of the things that actually worked.

I'd rather the whole thing was removed, personally. It adds nothing to the game but a gate and a hurdle for roster adjustment. Failing that, the time trials for dungeons and world bosses are my two most hated parts. Dungeon completion should be required, though. Even if the chain went away.

Attunement is a skill and gear/DPS check before you go into raids if you can't silver dungeons you won't do so awesome in raids. The timers are part of the DPS/gear check, world bosses are pointless but the rest of it is more or less fine even necessary. The dungeons help you learn how boss mechanics works I don't even want to think of how hosed up a raid would be with someone who just hit's 50 and never even saw a dungeon before.

My original post, which you quoted, indicates I think dungeon completion should be required even if the chain went away. As I've advocated in this thread numerous times, removing the time trials doesn't make the dungeons easier, and I don't want the dungeons easier. I want them to be more forgiving of real life conflicts with sitting down for 75 minutes. No raid I've ever been a part of didn't allow you to step away from the computer for 5 minutes in a real emergency. At WORST case, you cost the people around you something like 5-25 minutes for the wipe, and in most cases, you didn't even impact their ability to kill trash.

Completing a dungeon implies you can pass the tank/heal/dps checks that will be thrown at you. Completing it in 75 minutes indicates you can do it without having your cat knock something down in your kitchen, or someone step away to check on their child. That isn't a difficulty add, that's needless hassle.

I love time trials. I loved WoW's challenge modes and did Golds on two characters. But those are 21 minutes for the LONGEST dungeon.

I agree that (A) dungeons need to be shorter to make more reps possible ESPECIALLY SSM, and (B) there needs to be a pause button or something, but you can see how the ability to not wipe on things is actually a skill check and the ability to wipe on Mordechai Redmoon for 3 hours before getting it isn't actually that meaningful? If we're gonna do that, then just remove the attunement because it's not really serving anything approaching a purpose anymore, if it even ever did. Previously I was also saying that the timers need to be retuned, but I think they're actually in a good place right now.

Not that it's relevant to me, but I also think the PPP grind needs to be completely retuned- it's like they're afraid to make it non-lovely because people can do dungeons and adventures and sell the PPP's to 40-man raiders. If that quality is scaring the designers into making the game worse, then make them soulbound & massively up the drop-rate. I love the cash for selling them, but come the gently caress on.

The world bosses need retuning- this should be a thing that a 20-man raid that only raids a few nights a week at prime time should be able to complete in a few weeks without help or logging on at other times. That means world bosses that take more than 20 players to kill (honeygrave) need to be knocked down, farside boss needs fixing, and farside/wilderrun boss need to show up as events before they've been summoned if they're available. All world boss events need to show on the map cross-continent, or there needs to be some kind of DOMINION/EXILE BLOTTER you can refer to to see upcoming world events. If you can see world bosses an hour or two out, then you can keep things as it is, if you can't you need to cut the requirements down to 8 max.

Lastly, the number one thing that needs to be done is MAKE IT SO THAT YOU CAN ENTER AN INSTANCE WITH ONLY 75% ATTUNED, HOLY CRAP. I understand that everyone's all "oh but you can't kill bosses if 5 of your raiders are terrible", but let me worry about that. Look, it's 20 man raiding I should be able to bring 3-5 warm bodies and just wipe a lot. I don't expect to complete the content in anything approaching a reasonable time, but I do want to wipe with a few idiots. It's fine if you wanna make the attunement balls-hard, but let me choose a few people and say "yeah, maybe you should just hang out off to the side while we do this". Maybe that's a good argument for scrapping the attunement too, but I like doing the attunement and don't like the fact that I know there's people I'll never be able to attune, so that's just how I feel. This + genesis keys dropping off ohmna + soulbound PPP's dropping like candy inside DS I think will solve most problems the hardcore guilds have with attunement while allowing us the freedom to bring idiots to our raids if we want to.

EDIT: Re: genesis keys off ohmna, it'd be cool if they could drop off every boss at increasing likelihoods as you progress through the instance. So a guild that's just killing X-89 could expect to see a key very occasionally and a guild that's killing Ohmna should see one weekly or more. Because you're letting non-attuned people into the instance they could even be soulbound to avoid weird bad side-effects.

There are a lot of really dumb steps in the attunement. If you can't take an able person who would do fine in raids and get them through the attunement in an afternoon of grouping with guildies, it's too long and too complicated. Remember that this is just to enter any raid whatsoever, not to enter the black temple equivalent. This is to enter karazhan. A much harder karazhan, but still essentially karazhan.

In wildstar getting attuned is the same amount of effort as finishing all of karazhan was, and it has 0 of the rewards other than making some nerds on the internet feel good about their cool kids club. And people wonder why the population is taking a massive dip. If the only thing for me to do at max level is a hard as gently caress attunement chain and dick around with housing, I'll go play minecraft for the housing itch and basically any other f2p mmo for the better pvp and more fun pve.

I actually think Slavemaster Drokk is one of the more interesting fights in all the dungeons. He's really simple in a lot of ways, introducing more and more mechanics as the fight goes on. It starts off with basically ignorable stuff but all the mechanics add up to the point where getting hit by one or two without the tools to mitigate those mechanics becomes lethal. The heal check on tethers/homing beacons exists because the fight is so light on unavoidable damage otherwise (his autos are tankable by even DPS slingers - I had to heal Vans through healing tanking his last phase once) that it would almost be trivial to no-heal (the other two bosses in the instance are arguably completely no-healable)
