It's still going, the Galactus fight ended in the latest issue. It's the one that will have girl Thor next month. It seems like he was semi bluffing from the way he drops to the ground in the last panel, but it's even worse that he was able to willpower through it for even two panels when Galactus would be knocked cold right away.

Galactus does what he does out of necessity, not because he wants to. Punisher wants to kill, he likes doing it. Plus as you said he does get knocked down afterwards.

I may be recalling wrong, but there was a MAX story-line where the villain managed to convince Frank and an entire small town that Frank had killed an innocent. I'm pretty sure Frank was on the verge of suicide before he found out he was tricked.
