Based on the box art, it seems like the PS3/X360 versions might keep EASHL/GMC, but they'll lose out on the fancy new pre-game presentations and commentary. Which would you rather have???

It's a bit dismaying reading operation sports first take on the game too. Out of I believe three writers only one wasn't so impressed. The others were very much, "WOW THIS EXTRA YEAR OFF REALLY MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE!"

Those guys are quite often paid to write good things even if it caused them to vomit uncontrollably while playing the game because it was just that bad. Half of the time you can tell they never even took it out of the box. Just look at past EA "successes" like SimCity if you want to see the trend.

If you haven't seen the previews yet, just watch this:  This is an exact representation of what dynamic cloth technology looks like in the game. I'm not even making GBS threads you that is exactly how it looks in the game.

I'm perfectly happy with the 360 and only having to shell out 60$ a year + gold for my EASHL habit. The only reason at all an XBOX one would be appealing to me is that I play in competitive leagues for EASHL and some of them will probably be moving to the xbox one. That's not a good enough reason for me to shell out 400$ though, much as I love playing in those leagues. There will always be xbox 360 leagues until they stop making NHL for it. EASHL really is a gently caress load of fun even as flawed as EA's game mechanics can be. It's the most fun I've ever had in a hockey video game. If EA really does not put it in the xbox one version they're fuckin' retarded. There will be a LOT of pissed off people.

EASHL is the only reason I've bought the game since they put it in.. I skipped 2014 because it looked like butt, but bought the previous three years. It's not good hockey or even real hockey, but it is hilarious fun especially if you get into a game with friends. Mostly because I find the classic single player mode where you always control the player with the puck to be a boring way to play, I've never really liked it.

Not sure what gives me that impression. Edit: a truly staggering proportion of those penalty minutes and downey-esque hits come from our pet Franco-canadian. It's not like we are stone cold killers as a rule.

I was curious to hear Doc and Eddie's commentary and...it's not as impressive as I thought it would be. EASHL will still be in this year's current gen versions, only now to play you need to buy Ultimate Team Packs and can only play as players in your collections, and all players will be on single game contracts so even if you finally draw a half decent player, he's gone the next game so you're back to using some scrub from a German league instead.

If there's no EASHL, I'll literally be able to go on a 1-2 week vacation with all the money I save from having to buy a PS4, NHL15 and all the weed and liquor required to play OTP. I started at NHL11 and since then, haven't played a minute of sober OTP. Even though I actually don't like EASHL that much because it really does nothing to stop blatant cheaters and has remarkably piss poor matchmaking, it was the reason I got the game and I shan't get this one. (Remember when we could all hack our profiles to be Legend 3 immediately and combat the other cheaters? Good times.)
