Two people have shared this. Both white people who, as far as I know, do not listen to rap. Stuff like this is really only posted by people who haven't listened to hip-hop since like 1992. Rappers have been calling out hatred and misogyny for years, of course every time Kanye publicly does so people just classify it as "another crazy Kanye rant". Plus when some white dude shoots a bunch of people, does anyone ever call on country artists to reign in their misogyny and lawlessness? I want to post Killer Mike's CNN interview in the comments but I'm sure she will just focus on his name being Killer Mike.

Please do not let your children listen to country music. Maybe the white community needs to ask itself some hard questions and take cultural responsibility for the multiple mass shootings that occur every year.

Kinda reminds me of when Common did that poetry reading at the White House and everybody flipped their poo poo about him being a "gangster thug". Goddamn, people, have you even listened to one of his songs? Someone on twitter called him the Tom Hanks of rap music and that is very true.

"persuasive not controlling" is total bullshit- it's entirely up to the judge whether or not to cite to or rely on that rationale. It's not even a circuit court! I'd need to look at the Michigan case itself to see if it was a sane reading of Garner, but it would be a strange application of what I've read of the Garner decision. This person is bending over backwards to make his argument seem like it's legally structured- it's very telling that he didn't start with "there's a decision out of Michigan that I think courts would use to say that the Missouri law is Constitutional and Brown's killing was legal".
