I'am trying to get more people into Infinity at my local game store and we've come into a problem all he have for terrain is Warhammer and Warmachine terrain. I was wondering what any of you use. A couple of guys were working on some with plasticard, I was thinking about maybe ordering some online i just was wondering what company to go through.

+1 on the Warmill stuff, I forgot to mention we have an entire table of Warmill (it's a LOT of stuff) and it looks awesome.

It doesn't feel right to kill an unarmed man... but I'll get over it.
I bought a bunch of stuff from Systema and am pretty happy with it. The Warsenal cargo containers and command post are also quite rad (no experience with their other stuff). At this point, my tables mostly need scatter terrain.

I've been struggling against Camo marker spam with my Morats. Had a game last night where all my specialist for ITS wiped out on my opponents first turn. Getting rushed by 3 or 4 camo markers without having any recourse is just absolutely brutal. Reading the Link team rules again the Sixth Sense level 2 should have helped me out a bunch but I just ended up forgetting about it. With both my normal opponents running lists filled with ODD and camo markers I've pretty much been forced to run Yaogats every chance that I get which kinda sucks since we usually run ITS with some YAMS thrown in and Yaogat links eat up lots of points. Anyone have any advice for dealing with huge amounts of Camo markers? Right now my collection consists of the Morat starter box, doctor worm and drones, and the Vanguard weapon attachment box. Been proxying the Vanguards as Yaogats.

This is kind of immensely critical in that situation. As in huge and I don't have other answers for you.

- Morats are hard as gently caress in ITS, play something non-ITS
- Learn to love Yaogat links, and learn every word of the SS2 rule better than your personal data
- You may want to get an Oznat+4 Preta link in the second group, advance it towards midfield, then form a pre-positioned Yaogat link breaking the Hungry one. Camo marker will have loads of "fun" with 4 angry zerglings with chain rifles and mines.
- Mines and DTWs are generally good against camo, so you might want to take a Kurgat/Zerat and place some if you go first. If you go second, remember that if a camo marker jumps out from behind a corner and shoots you, you can still place a mine (delay ARO against a marker, ARO place mine when the marker reveals). Remember that placing a mine with an enemy camo marker in its area of fire is an attack and requires an Intuitive Attack skill (long + pass WIP roll). However, mines do react to markers.
- If you can get away with making GBS threads 3 monomines from a Q-Drone, even better.
- Ikadrons are your best buddies. 2 light flamers will burn away camo. And if they get killed, welp a whole 9 point loss and you have higher retreat threshold so eating the baggage loss penalty is no big deal.

It is kinda funny, but Infinity and Malifaux feel like they are proper versions of Necromunda and Mordheim. High terrain skirmish games, with proper rules and proper support.

I won't say the settings are objectively better, although I personally found myself not finding the dark grimdark skullfuture of 40K compelling after high school. I recognize that the cheesecake anime setting of Infinity isn't exactly high brow, but I enjoy it because it feels fun and colorful. I'd even go so far as to say I wish they had some Infinity graphic novels to get more of the setting. An RPG game system would be pretty cool as well.

Not quite so interested in Malifaux, since it is still a bit grimdark, but it is more of a Batman the Animated series stylized cartoon grimdark, so the stylization makes it a bit more interesting (although no interest any fiction or RPG at all).

If Infinity and Malifaux both had a campaign system as extensive and flavorful as Necromunda (and Mordheim?) then I wouldn't have to stop being all nostalgic about them and stop getting tempted to spend exorbitant prices on horribly painted Ebay models.

NEWT THE MOON

The Paradiso campaign doesn't work for an ongoing campaign because it is directly story limited, but the tools it introduced in terms of casevac cubevac and specops are great tools and with a bit of tweaking would make for a solid campaign.

Never got to try Mordheim growing up, but if that's how GW want to keep their old specialist stuff around I'm all for it.

Though I wonder how clunky the mechanics will feel now with superior games like Infinity and Malifaux setting new standards for skirmish level stuff.

Got to play through all the scenarios of Icestorm with Deviant and OB_Juan. Pretty fun stuff, though I'm definitely eager to expand the available rules for each model to offer some more variety.

My highlights include me getting steamrolled for the first 3-4 games, getting super excited that my Father-Knight was going to be able to sword someone only to review their profile and find their giant sword is a Knife :negative:, and constantly bemoaning the Sikh Commando as it failed me over and over only to eventually win me one of the last games hands-down on turn one by dropping in behind everyone's LOS arcs and killing 6/7 enemy models.

Anyone know where I can find that list?

On the one hand, I want to paint my Morlocks like various Pop Culture references - Anyone who will get bodymods to make them look more like an elf or Beast from X-Men are probably pop culture fanatics.

Does anyone have any tips for playing infinity over Vassal? I am completely failing to get my friend excited about playing despite how cool the game looks. It would be a great pastime now that winter is coming in - I am wondering if I can get my fix using Vassal jn the meantime with some of my more technologically minded buddies, or maybe one of you fine chaps.

Also, as per te discussion of 2e/3e/IceStorm earlier, does anyone have a general overview on what systematically will change? If it's just a case of combined/universal rules and range differences I won't be too worried about investing time to learn now

Southern Heel

Oh! Another question: it looks like if I ever do convince this chap to play I will be funding it - are there a couple of high-pt cost armies I could pick up for he and I to use? I have reviewed the army lists but with sectorials I don't even know where to start!

Pierzak

@Vassal: don't :v: Seriously, go play Frozen Synapse or proxy the minis and play on an actual table, Infinity is too 3D for Vassal.

@rule changes: Camo will exchange first shot for bonus to FTF roll, Martial Arts will change, hacking will change, you can learn the game as it is now, 3ed won't make you throw your knowledge away.

@high-point cost armies: I assume you mean elite factions, higher cost per model? CA is definitely an elite faction, basic Aleph tends to be one unless you run the sectorial with a ton of Myrmidongs/Thorakitai. Also, go with the faction whose look and feel you like the most :v:

Perfect, thank you for the answers. I think Vassal with tabletop-disinclined friend and proxy with reluctant-spender friend is the way forward. The ALEPH starter set is fine, the Combined Army one is literal garbage that has not aged well. The Morat Aggression Force has amazingly better models, and is currently getting an incredible amount of support.

Sadly 'm no longer in the same country as my gaming club, but they tell me that the local CA player has started fielding the anathematic(my pet 'coolest mini in Infinity" model)with a Sepsitor and has been making an absolute killing. Taking over link leaders and using them to nuke the link, Lt. assassination, taking minelayers and seeding the enemy field with their own mines, you name it.

Are there any real strategies for defending against a sepsitor? Especially one that can hidden-deploy?

MSV2+anti-armor AROs. HD doesn't do much in this case because if he isn't doing something it's ~99 points not taking part in the action.

Then again, last tournament I ramboed a Haramaki link with a sepsitor Skiavoro, took over 2 and EMPed the other 3 and the Spec-Op hacker conveniently posted nearby. Poisitioning is very important :v:
