If you guys were wondering about the Korra thread, it's currently talking about Dumbledore.

It's great and it ended on a fairly dark note. I'm excited about where it can go. The first couple seasons were really flawed.

I only watched the original Avatar series after Korra was already out and thought "Hey I kinda like these shows, let's see what the TVIV thread is like." Oops. This last season was pretty good, you should watch it.

Cardboard Box A posted:How is the latest season? Quite good, but never, ever, read the thread. Although that was true of Avatar as well. It's the closest Korra has gotten, as a complete season, to Avatar in its entire run. The origin of the avatar two-parter last season was still the best it's done as a show though.

yes the next season is the last one and it's pretty much done. They are just waiting for the Korean slave labor to finish up animating.

I believe they have a deal with Nick for at least one more season. Whether or not that actually airs on TV or is just web based we'll see. Obviously actually making it isn't guaranteed since networks can and have backed out of these things in the past.

It's made and finished, and its released in January online in one big bag. No weekly releases, Netflix style shoved out the door.

I thought I just read something this week that said they're going to release the entire thing at once Netflix style. Maybe that was just a specific region or after it airs on TV or something. e;fb

I watched Rectify and found it to be good in every way except being not-boring. It has a really cool main plot and character and devotes a painful amount of time to other stuff. The last four episodes were good but not really enough payoff to keep me interested. The brother-in-law character gets so much focus even though he is just a boring douche. Most of the show's ambiguity derives from the main character being almost pathologically reticent and passive. Rectify probably has the best use of recurring flashbacks I've seen in a show, though.

Fateo McMurray posted:The Tick wasn't very good and it will continue to be not very good I loved the Tick cartoon and I have to agree with this 100%. There's nothing the live action Tick tried to do that Teen Titans Go doesn't do better in animated form, so if they really want to bring back anything it should just be the animated Tick. They can keep Warburton as the Tick's voice though. J-Spot posted:Amazon, if you're going to go bringing back unlikely series can you please give The Critic another go? It doesn't have to be good, I just want something to compel Al Jean to finally quit The Simpsons. How many go's does that show need to get? Didn't it already get three? Aphrodite posted:It's because you haven't watched the early ones recently and don't realize how lovely your tastes were then. Or you have and your taste is still lovely. I feel the same as you about a lot of that stuff. A lot of scenes feel like they're just rehashing the same thing we've already seen multiple times and Daniel's Forrest Gumpishness stands out a lot more.
