Cialis Railman posted:So how well do the Dead Rising games work on PC? 2's only $20 and the apocalypse version of 3 is %10 off and comes out on the 5th. I played a little bit of Dead Rising 2 on the PS3 but didn't really get into it. They're pretty good ports. Off the Record runs really well. Probably want to use a controller, though.

With streaming does anyone know if it is a known issue that you can't join a game on someone? The drop down within the stream (via the GUI) doesn't work and if you do it from the client computer's instance of Steam it only gives the option to install the game, not stream. I suppose I should try and join from the host physically then move back to the client but it kind of defeats the purpose.

I picked up Fearless Fantasy for a 1.75 USD over at Bundle Stars and found it not a terrible game. It's basically a series of wave combat situations, and most inputs require timed mouse drags to complete actions. It's a tad finicky but you get used to it soon enough. If you hate QTE-ish stuff, you should pass. Combat is actually challenging, which is something I find rare in any turn-based RPG, without ever feeling unfair. The UI is also deceptively good at letting you know what weakness/buffs/debuffs a character currently has. Items are extremely overpowered and cheap and seem to be there for mass spamming if you feel like you're stuck and just want to move on. The art is unique and features some cool designs, and weapons' appearances change depending on what you have equipped and I'm sucker for that kind of thing. The cutscenes, dialogue, and voice-acting are definitely going for the intentionally bad vibe, though to what effect I can't really say. It didn't really bother me much since it's not a big thing in the game. So if you're looking for a short, 4-5 hours, game that features some decent combat and an interesting art style, you could do a lot worse than take a chance on this for 7 quarters. Bieeardo posted:Oh, yeah. And whoever thought reprising that godawful schtick where you have to squat and defend a Little Sister while she stabs at a dead guy needs to be horsewhipped. Because that's a barrel of fun. For me, the fact that I could choose when and where to do those (and that Little Sisters are built of indestructium) meant that those defense sessions were often the highlight of a level... lots of combat fun, and the best chance to use traps. Dominic White posted:For anyone that might have picked it up during the sales, Cloudbuilt just got a major update. No new content, but it's a general gameplay improvement patch. I've tried to play Crusader Kings 2 three times now. It is completely impenetrable to me. I really like lighter things like the Total War campaigns, but I can't seem to do anything but wait around until a pop-up shows up in CK2. I really want to like it, the stories and stuff I hear about the game are great, but even with the tutorial it is just pages and pages of super esoteric info and weird icons I sometimes don't even know if I can interact with.

Are you talking about the in-game tutorial? Cause that sucks. Or are you talking about the Tutorial Thread in the Let's Play subforum? Cause while some bits are out of date, thats much better.

Last I heard the CK2 tutorial is broken now and not worth trying. Use the LP to learn the game, or do what I did and just jump in with a King-level character and learn as you go along! if you hover your mouse over stuff there are tooltips for almost everything.

Besides all the gameplay and performance improvements, Metro 2033 Redux made the shittiest parts of the game (the escort missions) incredibly easier! It was actually fun this time around.

There was enough space to actually maneuver around and that also meant that if you were spotted you weren't immediately swarmed by the dozen guys in the same room you are.

Emong posted:I don't really know anything about it, but people were talking up Trails in the Sky. That one is indeed good, but it's not a faux-medieval setting, it's a faux-industrial/electrical revolution setting, featuring guns, clocks, and airliners. The only other good JRPG on Steam I know is Last Remnant, which is a setting so unique that I don't think it qualifies as faux-medieval.

Even then, if you keep all the lights off/destroy them, and you kill the enemies with silenced weaponry, they freak out because they can't find you.

Just purchased some steam funds via paypal to buy some items from the marketplace to find I can't use the marketplace. I was aware they block access to the marketplace for 7 days when you add a new card but I've been using the same paypal account for steam purchases for at least 5 years. Does this really happen with every paypal purchase and is there anything that can be done other than waiting a week? I regularly change password, last was around 3 weeks ago, steamguard is enabled, so adding the funds has to be the cause.

So, for anyone here who's played it, have any of you managed to successfully set up a multiplayer server in Assetto Corsa? Since myself, my dad and a friend of ours all get together on most Friday nights to do some racing/shooting/RPGing and AC looks to be quite good (and seems to be, from the few goes I've had at it), except that I'm unable to get a server running for long, since it makes a few attempts to connect to the master server, before failing and closing itself. Note: We can actually join it successfully and play for a few minutes (since we're all on a LAN so we can all see my server), except we all of course get dropped out. So, I've tried following all the instructions - my PC's in the DMZ, I've set up port forwarding/virtual servers for the specified ports (both inbound and outbound), all to no effect. So, is there something I'm missing? Alternatively/additionally, is there a way to make a LAN-only server at this stage? Since that would also be a good option for us. Thanks
