So I went to the zoo! Next time I'll take a tripod and a couple of lenses, but it was a good scouting trip. Jimlad fucked around with this message at 01:24 on Sep 7, 2014 |

I took my new Tamron 150-600 to the zoo today to mess around with it. Its the biggest lens I've ever had but I got used to it pretty quickly. I was so excited to use it though I forgot to check all my settings before I started taking pictures. Bad idea after you've let your two year old play with your camera in your lap Apparently he had switched it to spot metering and all my shots ended up with blown out skies and highlights. Oh well. Still got to see this cute girl running back and forth above me. 20140823-IMG_7406 by LeeMHarp, on Flickr dont hate the playa fucked around with this message at 03:50 on Aug 24, 2014 |

I apologise in advance for spamming all my safari photos. If I don't process them now I know from experience they will sit collecting (digital) dust. I converted this one to B&W to try and counteract the brutal light and heat distortion. Beautiful.

Great fox photos. I'm especially loving the look on this one's face - is there enough detail to crop in for a close up on it? I paid a visit to a Roosevelt elk herd on Saturday. young-bulls by Redwood Planet, on Flickr young-bull-face by Redwood Planet, on Flickr bull by Redwood Planet, on Flickr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUc-PqFzmeE I'm gonna try to edit something together with the bull's rutting behavior after I finish my current video project. It got pretty gross - rutting involves a lot more bodily fluids splashing all over than most nature documentaries let on.
