The one where a Brooklyn Police Station is assaulted by no fewer than two dozen Steelers fans armed with automatic weapons and molotov cocktails? The episode that sees a mortally wounded police officer's deathbed confession as an opportunity to tell Viagra jokes? The episode in which the central conflict is resolved by dousing a police car in gasoline and hurtling it into a crowd of people, where it explodes?

Everything Taxi Brooklyn does flies in the face of established police procedural tropes, and its better for it. The best part? The show was just renewed for a second season. :allears:

Pretty much all this, yeah. I would try watching another episode but I'm not sure my body could handle it.

I could be mistaken but I think they're talking about her actress. Laurel isn't Black Canary on Arrow.

I had to look up her part in New Girl and it looks like she was a bit part in one episode, does that really count?
Who the hell was she in Taken though? I haven't seen it in a few years, was she the slutty friend that dies in a brothel?

Yeah she was the daughter's friend on Taken. She was also a main role in the short lived Melrose Place revival.

It fits the some wheelhouse as Person of Interest for me. It throws caution to the wind and instead of pulling back just keeps going. It does falter though and the show still has no idea what to do with Laurel. Their reluctance to kill her off made me think they were building to something with her but...no. Just be prepared to get through some soap opera tedium before a really good run of Season 2 episodes.
It's been pretty watchable so far. I don't even mind the soapy parts, they feel not as bad. I honestly believe it's a well made show and I'm shocked it comes from the CW. Huntress is real bad and I wish she would go away forever though. The rest of the cast at least holds their own. Oliver's sister and Laurel seem to be trapped in the one dimensional zone that I hope they can come out of. It worked for the first bit of episodes, now they keep hitting the same things episode in and out.

Although I did sort of roll my eyes at episode 17 (the one I'm currently half way through)
Laurel's sister might be alive! Soapy to the max

The blonde girl they have now is a martial artist and stunt person. Why would they replace her with someone that can't do those things?

I haven't seen anything that Canary she's been recast. If you're talking about Katana , that's a completely different character.

Ummm, no, she won't. As someone who was waiting to see how they would explain her becoming Canary, I was pretty impressed with what they ended up doing.

Don't get me wrong, there's more than enough on Arrow that is eye-rollingly bad. However, the actors they got to play the characters are pretty great for their roles.

Hmmmm, rumors are that HBO is going to remaster and rebroadcast the Wire this month.

I don't know if this means it's going to be shown in 16:9 (I don't know if 16:9 masters even exist) but I know that it was originally broadcast in 4:3 on purpose because Simon wanted a local news aesthetic.

Kind of odd that this one guy was able to capture a perfect 1080p copy of this really generic and seemingly easy to make promo on 8/22 that is supposedly running many times a day and nobody else has seen. I'm not saying it's completely fake, but I am saying I won't be surprised if turns out to be completely fake. Especially given what we know of the methods of filming and the creator's artistic vision for the show.

There's occasionally an episode where the subject matter is something he seems to really love, like the recent one that was essentially a tribute to old talk radio DJs, and it makes for such a great episode.
