Danny shares with us both his experience in dealing with the police during a protest and the various tactics they bring to bear in such a situation, and helps us break down the various causes of the unrest in Ferguson. We go over a lot of how a person should deal with the police and what affect their increasing militarization is having on the notion of "serve and protect."

The Bloody Good Horror Podcast Episode 300!

Episode 300: This is Your Life BGH!

After 7 years, 299 episodes, so many bad horror movies, some good ones, a whole hell of a lot of time in the movie theater, convention appearances, new friends, cast vacations, 2 weddings, a few cross country moves and 2 kids, and becoming an LLC, we've finally hit 300! It's been awhile since I've pimped it here in this thread, but you all helped us out in the early days, so thanks for that!

This week we celebrate 300 glorious episodes of Bloody Good Horror. Along the way, meet almost all of the guest hosts that have appeared on our air over the years, reminisce about the early days of the show, and hear all of your kind feedback about our milestone. Here's to 300 more!

(Excuse the technical issues in the beginning, we were giving Skype a run for its money. It does eventually smooth out)

It's been fun, can't wait for more! Since this, i myself have spawned a spinoff podcast on Netflix movies, game videos and more. We've got a huge site relaunch coming up October 1st, going to be a big year.

Enjoy!

From Time to Time

A fictional series of broadcasts from 300 years in the Future. There are four episodes, and I suggest you listen to them in order or you'll miss out on a lot of the weird inside jokes and narrative developments that have built up. The main character is a scientist (a "chronographer", in the show's parlance) who works for the "Ministry of Experimental Science". His girlfriend is a robot who may or may not have a sinister secret. There are sometimes guests, but only one in the episodes that have been released so far.

Not bad. I listened to these this morning and enjoyed them. Overall a strong concept and I hope you keep putting them out.

Itunes. Get on it. It's free and easy and it will drive traffic to you.

Below are nitpicks and should be taken as such.

I hear a mouse click a couple of times, specifically at the very end of episode one and 35 seconds into episode three. It messes with the professionalism you project otherwise.

Something feels off in your main music choice. It sort of matches your tone, kinda, but there's nothing in it that reads "future dystopia".

You get better at it as the episodes go by, but trust the audience a little bit more. You tend to hammer the jokes pretty hard when sometimes its funnier to just let the listener ponder the future horror that awaits.

Also your image is not great. Text in a floating field texture isn't going to grab peoples eyes. If you go with text, go big and bold, solid text on high contrast backgrounds. The grids being the same color as the letters muddy the whole thing. Otherwise stick icons with highly recognizable outlines.

I want to get it on itunes, but I'm waiting until I have the money to host it myself. I'm worried that if I move it to itunes while I'm still on podomatic I won't be able to switch it over.

The SAFTAcast, a part of the Sundress Academy for the Arts, prides itself on being a writer’s podcast that is not about writing. In fact, the subject of writing is immediately ruled out as a possible conversation topic. On the SAFTAcast, there are no setup questions, no pre-packaged answers, and no stack of blue cards on a table. The programs are more focused on learning about the creators as opposed the creation. Ep.17 dropped yesterday, and I think it’s a good introduction for new listeners, especially ones who may be put off by the show being categorized as “arts, literature, and writing.”* This time out, we talk with a young, Tennessee filmmaker about good movies, bad movies, Halloween, and horror movies. (For a couple samples of his work, check the episode's post on the website.)

Constructive criticism about the show - and promos - is welcome.

* We go out of our way to avoid talking about writing, or new books, or anything related to the craft; the show’s unofficial motto is “Your writing/work doesn’t matter.”

I think this is a great concept, just listened to episode 2 and I was totally sold by it. The only complaint I could say is the audio was a bit fuzzy at a couple points, hardly enough to kill the show but enough to muffle a few bits. Still you guys are clearly passionate about something that the medium really needs more of and have a lot of talent, eager for more!

Thank you! I agree wholeheartedly. We're definitely still working on things, both in front of and behind the scenes, so we know we have room for improvement. It wouldn't surprise you to hear that me recording this thing is literally an analog red and white audio cable with a headphone jack on the other end plugged into a laptop. That's it. Now that we're getting a little established we're going to start improving things like our recording equipment.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked it! Tell your friends and throw us an iTunes rating if you can. We make NO money off of this as of now so it's completely a labor of love. Thanks.

We've recorded 15 episodes now and we enjoy doing it. We've gotten a smattering of praise and a few critiques, but mostly we're so new(ish) it has been hard to get any feedback one way or the other.

A weekly podcast wherein a panel of four intrepid b-movie enthusiasts watch a less-than-Hollywood film and immediately recap and review it in about 30 minutes. We seek not only to entertain, but to provide a valuable service in letting other b-movie fans know what's worth watching and what's a snore. Most importantly, Len Kabasinski "liked" us on Facebook, and he is absolutely an arbiter of good taste.

We currently have five episodes out, with our latest pertaining to 1991 Canadian Christmas animated short The Christmas Tree. This is the episode where we've started to find our footing and the format is starting to take shape, and since we had such a blast watching the movie there's a lot of energy in the room that I hope transferred well into the recording. Our other episodes to date include:

- Back From Hell, a no budget 1993 horror movie featuring a dirty Minnesotan in dirty sweats
- Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky, the notoriously gory kung-fu flick from 1991
- Foodfight!, the infamous 3D animated disaster from 2012
- Society, a gross and incestuous body horror comedy from 1989

Our upcoming episode will cover Destroyer, featuring Lyle Alzado with a jackhammer!

Since we have just started we're looking for any honest criticism of the content and format. Thanks for listening!

Plus, since my wife and I love watching B-movies together, who better to team up with?

We release new episodes every Friday. We've laid some ground rules. They have to be direct to video horror flicks that neither my wife nor I have seen. They can be from any year or era, just not released in theaters. We're 6 episodes in and having lots of fun. You can find all of the episodes over at my old horror blog http://www.cinemafromage.com. In those 6 weeks we've covered:

The Last Showing
The Houses October Built
Zombeavers
Bloody Bloody Bible Camp
Wolf Copy

And our latest ep, Murder Party!

Coming soon we'll be covering Eduardo Sanchez's latest, "Exists", which is excited because I love bigfoot, and Eduardo Sanchez.

Enjoy!

you can't take the sky from me
I just started production on a podcast called The Brutal Sea. The core format is a listener submission-based audio arts zine -- poetry, short fiction, prose-y musings, songs (original singer-songwriter/band content and more long-form instrumental pieces) We're currently working on our web presence and putting together the scripts for the first couple of episodes and are trying to chase down content. If you're interested in having a piece in the cast, send to brutalseasubmissions at the gee mail. I think this is gonna be a really neat project -- we have amazing long term plans for it -- but because of the format it's gonna take some effort to get it off the ground and every submission helps!

Genre: Political commentary/opinion
Released: Usually bi-weekly on average, sometimes weekly and sometimes once a month
Goon: VH4Ever
Description: Basically The Edge Of Chaos is a podcast with me and my hardcore Randian libertarian Ron/Rand Paul supporting friend from high school (I am a former libertarian and current Progressive liberal) debating various current events, political and economic theory, or anything else that's interesting in the political sphere. Episode 55, "Food In America" - In this episode we welcome special guest Ben Schnittger to discuss not only food in America today but the notion of "food politics" and how it affects law, political policy and society at large. We examine the history and effect of farm subsidies and how they affect the rise of Monsanto as a driving force in both food production and distribution, and what this means for Americans today.

Episode 56, "Circus Politics" - In this episode we tackle "circus politics" in America by analyzing the recent outbreak of measles connected to unvaccinated children at Disneyland and the fresh debate about vaccines and their merits. We move on to the recent statements and actions of some early GOP presidential hopefuls including Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin, and finish up by joining in on teasing NBC's Brian Williams for his faulty memory, and the media in general as well.

Beers for Gamers

iTunes | Stitcher | RSS Feed

Beers for Gamers, a podcast dedicated to craft beer and video games, usually served up with a healthy side of tangential discussions! Every Wednesday join your hosts as they talk about whats new in the world of beer and games, sampling the beers they bring in to share with one another as they go.

Forgive our temporary placeholder logo, we have an original one in the works. We are only 6 episodes in and still working on our format and getting used to the flow, but things are coming along, most importantly we are having a blast while we get in to the swing of things.!
