Dude should get a girlfriend, stop being abusive, and raise a family or something imo or maybe take a hermitage and write some more porn zen novels for the ninja world.

Brain problems or not, rethinking your master plan is probably in order when you just, five seconds ago, saw it fail. At least think of some sort of plan B to telling the only other being in existence who can stand up to you that you're just going to kill his friends and leader while they sleep. Oh, and all his animal friends are getting turned into moons too. Nice of Naruto to promise that they weren't going to have the same drat fight as the Sage's two sons, only to instead have the same drat fight as the most recent reincarnation of those two people instead.

He blames the Kage's and the entire system for what happened to his family. So he wants to kill them before everyone is freed(for obvious reasons). Now his timing couldn't change much either as Naruto was about to get the Kyuubi again, and this is probably about as weak as Naruto is ever going to get again, Kakashi has no Sharingans any more, and laffo Sakura. And he removed the Bijuu from the equation(for now) Now they are probably going to keep this semi competitive by using the "Naruto has a piece of chakra from every Bijuu in side of him" but this is Sasuke's best shot at doing this cleanly. Plus when he frees everyone no one will know what really happened so he could play the hero. "Naruto and the Kage's valiantly sacrificed their lives etc etc" Now being like "Yo I'm about to kill these dudes is that ok?" rather than "oops Sorry Naruto you are kinda caught in an eternal fire" is pretty dumb, but I kinda just accept that as a part of most series like this. I actually gave up following what was going on in this dumb comic like back when Obito somehow became god but then there were somehow like three levels of godliness above even what he obtained but holy poo poo this is dumb. The concept itself isn't all that dumb, it was obvious from like the beginning that Sasuke was gonna turn out to be the final villain or whatever but why's it gotta be like this. This whole "ninja-war" arc or whatever the hell just seems like a constant stream of rear end-pulls and one-upsmanship.

Time to put on the 'You are giving this much more thought than the author (maybe)' and 'Please don't put the ugly world things into the silly/stupid comic, it's insulting to the ugly real world things(maybe)' hats. This makes perfect sense for someone like Sasuke to do. Hell, every major villain in the series has roots in the 'children/teenagers should NOT BE INVOLVED IN THESE KINDS OF SITUATIONS, JESUS CHRIST' issue. Sasuke just gets the most focus because he's the main character's foil. Of course this is a terrible idea that makes sense to Sasuke. The same thing happened with his brother. Itachi went "Okay my clan because they're assholes/HAVE BRAIN PROBLEMS/like chunky peanut butter instead of smooth want to start a revolution, I have been ordered to stop slash kill them.' Itachi is himself a child soldier, grown up. He decides "Okay, I will do it, but I will spare Sasuke, he will grow up and kill me and be hailed as a hero and at least maybe he can have a life. But Sasuke loves me. How can I actually make him kill me? I guess I'll have to use Sharigan eye tricks to subject him to hideous mental torture, ergo he will hate me and kill me and things will be okay for him." This is the thought process of someone both mentally and emotionally stunted by being thrust into a combat situation adults would have trouble handling, let alone children who were actually trained in childhood to be purposely put into. This is the mindset of someone who can only vaguely grasp long term consequences, which is fitting as war in the trenches is nothing but a series of immediate catastrophes that rarely allow proper thought. So it works, of course, except it doesn't stop there. Sasuke doesn't just hate Itachi, he's all screwed up in general. Then along comes the Orichimarus and the Obitos to screw with Sasuke's hosed up head even more (because they're also all hosed up grown child soldiers who suffered horrendous events), and even Itachi gets in on it, again screwing with Sasuke's head via magic Sharigan powers because...he felt Sasuke wasn't ready and he had to keep up the act? The author hadn't thought that far ahead? He was just that stupid? Who knows. So we have all that, along with Sasuke constantly being handed greater and greater power (and power corrupts in and of itself), along with greater and greater knowledge that doesn't help HIM at all, as it just points out "Forget it kid, it's Ninjatown." So of course despite all the poo poo they just went through he immediately does this. Forget BRAIN PROBLEMS. He's a damaged, angry, overwhelmed with PTSD child (in situations like this, I still consider a 16/17 year old a child) with incredible power. Wouldn't YOU want to lash out at the world that's just so drat unfair, fix it as you see fit, and be so drat myopic about it? I suspect I would. Honestly, the best way to do this is for Sasuke to be Naruto's great failure. Naruto's the classic shonen idealist, and I think of the line from the first Captain America movie where the doctor talks about picking the weak and frail Steve Rogers because someone like him might appreciate, understand, and wield great power better than someone who always had it. Naruto also had a hard upbringing, but he got past it. He got showered with incredible power and gifts, maybe half of which he actually had to work for. But if he really wants to be a good Hokage, then he has to be more than Ninja Jesus. Sasuke is that lesson. Naruto went through the wringer and came out the other end. Sasuke broke, and Naruto can't fix him, no matter how much power he had and how much he wants to. All Naruto can do is stop him, suffer the pain of this, and learn from it. Of course, asking such a thing from a shonen manga is kind of like betting your life savings on a game of roulette. Might work out in your favor, but best to not do it to begin with. The Raikage is the only one we know possibly had any hand in any real wrong doing (what with the whole trying to kidnap Hinata thing), along with the Tsuchikage (said to have used underhanded methods when dealing with other villages, but we've never been given an example). The rest have made it their life goals to try and fix the hosed up way things are now, with the Mizukage putting great efforts to reverse the numerous tragedies that her predecessor enacted. Kill the kages, kill Naruto (probs kill Orochimaru for good measure), use the sealed up Tailed Beasts to end the Infinite Tsukuyomi, tell everybody that Naruto and the Kages perished in glorious battle, but he managed to defeat Madara. Sasuke is now the greatest hero in the history of ninja-kind.
