I'd say its a larger more dangerous Regina, if that helps I thought the cultural scene and bars were vastly overrated. So, CTing from Res F to Reg F. How many years can I expect for this to take? Also, is there someone I can bug for it to go faster?

If you have a super in-demand trade they're screaming for, it'll be done right-quick. If you're infantry...well, wait out.

I'm transferring to pilot, which is apparently in high demand right now. I also have all the medical testing done, got officer+ on the CFAT and have a graduate degree, so theoretically it should be smooth sailing. My unit's clerks haven't heard anything about it, though, so seeing as I actually did the paperworks in july, I'm getting kind of antsy about it. Is there someone I can get ahold of, or is it basically a waiting game?

Do the math, 15 guys per Phase 1 course, every three weeks. Then about the same for Moose Jaw, but every 10 weeks. They still have to do ROTP and CEOTP folks, too.

We're still pushing heavy on pilots. I've done two DEO pilot interviews last week and have another 3 in the next week or so. I'm not super familiar with the CT process, though, so I can't give any insight on that. I can go more into the steps that applications progress through, if that wasn't explained very well to you. Just fire me an email at paybara AT gmail dot com so I don't spam the boards with too much recruiting fluff.

Well, have fun with year+ waits for Phase 1. I can tell you for a fact the last few dudes on those pilot platoons aren't scheduled for Portage till August '15 (-ish), after the ROTP and Seneca CEOTP guys do theirs in the summer. Obviously, poo poo can change before a CT takes effect, but that is the current training situation. Best case is the CT takes long enough that you avoid the current DEO bump and get scheduled for next fall. Have you done aircrew selection in Trenton yet?

I haven't done jack. I basically submitted my application through DWAN, and haven't heard anything about it in the last three months.

I'm not sure if Ammo has the same reputation in the CF as it does with the rest of GiP, but if it does I present to you Ammo.txt:"'Anime News Network' posted:On Monday, the Quebec City courthouse sentenced a 54-year-old former private security guard to 60 days in prison for watching what was described as "Japanese child-porn cartoons known as hentai." Regis Tremblay acknowledged watching the material while manning the ammunition depot at the Canadian Force Base Valcartier in January 2012. He cited "curiosity" as the reason.

So some papers the SUN and National Post especially are really agitating for Iraq War, round 3. I can only speak for my tiny slice of the artillery branch, but everything seems broken, and budget cuts are really taking a toll. The government doesn't think we can actually deploy en masse for operations, do they?

I think only the special forces and a few others for consultation will be sent, maybe some aircraft and a ship. More or less (much, much less) like the US since they don't want boots on the ground but are using their special forces and air force for surgical strikes. The Kurdish and Arab allies are the ones going in on the ground.

You can't use the troop compartment heater because it will start a fire. You shouldn't use the fuel fired coolant heater because it might start a fire. You can't drive at highway speeds. It shakes itself apart on paved roads above 70kph. You can hear the brakes from a kilometer away. Let's go to war.

I've got nothing against the ML, other than the fact that it looks like it was designed and built for the Korean war. Also, the windows never seal. And the benches are always loving broken in the back.

Something about rolling around in a magnesium hull kind of weirds me out Also, they sound like they're going like a million miles an hour even at sane (30km/h) speeds. How about we just ditch all other forms of transport and make modular/uparmored/transport versions of the BV-206. It'll be a perfect fit when everything is under 2m of water/snow/Russians.

MA-Horus posted:So...how long are we going to be keeping the Tribals after their supposed retirement dates due to delays on the new ships? "Tribal" - singular now, as only the HMCS Athabaskan will ever sail again. Nothing too surprising in this announcement except that it makes official what everyone pretty much knew was the case already - we won't be able to keep these few decrepit hulls shambling along long enough to see their replacements and that we're going to have a reduction and gap in capability for several years.
