The big revelation will be there were four Bottlefly Boys originally...!

There's an awful lot of skeletons on the monster.

Maybe the Bottlefly Boys was an entire crew. Say 20 or so.

Perhaps enough to have a day crew, in addition to a night crew. And then something happened to the day crew, wiping it out entirely.

I can't remember was there a day crew in comic, or is it just the night crew?

How does one remove that with a corkscrew? Unless they pushed it in which is just the worst idea.

Since the wound on Wadsworth's back is a line instead of a hole I think they just used the sharp point to dig into the skin and cut the barb out. It's an alternative way to remove a splinter that you can't pull out (or don't have the right tools for).

Have we seen an X used anywhere before? The three lines are a pretty common motif, wondering if what he did in this strip has been seen elsewhere too.

It looks more like an asterisk to me. The horizontal line is a little harder to see.

Exactly, the three lines are converging. He's followed them to their source in the flashbacks and now drawn them to their endpoint in the present.

This is totally a distraction to make us think wadsworth is on the level. the nightmare he had about Hole Man growing out of him is gonna end up being prophetic.

There is the issue of a corpse eating monster and a mostly intact Bottlefly Boy corpse. I don't know if Zane is completely off the hook.

As much as this seems like a terrible idea I can't help feel Zane's right. Because if you don't kill the monster right now, you're not going to remember their was a monster tomorrow.

Just another step closer to the alternate universe.

He already sold all the encylopedias in book 5, when it turns out that it was key to stopping a monster.

But probably not in the way you'd think.

What does Broodhollow do? It makes you forget.

What does an encyclopedia do? It remembers for you.

Zane was meant to fight Broodhollow from birth.

It leads to the inside of Zane's head, that's why he's been hearing voices.

The hole he keeps seeing in his dreams is the other end.

Unrelated to today's comic, but this has been bugging me forever: is there a clear image anywhere of the background of the Broodhollow comments section? It looks like headlines from a newspaper with the occasional bit of spooooky magical runes mixed in, and I've never been able to pick out more than a couple of words.

Foolish child of man...
After reading all this,
do you still not understand?
I flipped it vertically, and was able to make out a couple mirrored phrases in there such as "the evil effects of alcohol" and "believe no one is watching", but I expect it's mostly just vaguely spooky gibberish.
