Be aware that there are more than 10 years of comics in there and there are usually much longer than your average 1-strip-joke so don't overdose (also they aren't necessarily always funny).
That 1st comic could be mildly funny if 75% of it were trashed.

8 Ace is almost always great, they get a surprising amount of mileage out of "Wife gives him £1.49 for something and he spends it on 8 Ace".

The problem with most his comics is that they are quite long and usually not funny in a nedroid way. More like bittersweet funny.

I really like them and have all his books, but I think it's pretty hard to find a short comic from him that most goons will find genuinely funny.

It's really an artist that delivers more on the long term, when you become familiar with his story and universe.

I'm trying to disect all the little details here

- The snowmen's eyes aren't lumps of coal, they appear to be cut black diamonds
- I don't think it's the snowman talking, but the actual hat, like some villainous perversion of Frosty.
- The zigzag lines usually mean electronic voices, which might mean the hat is a robot, it contains the speaker for snowman robot, or the snowcommander is commumincating with his snowsoldiers.

Is it like a stay-puft marshmallow man kind of deal where they took on the form of Frosty to appear less theatening, or do they just happen to come from a planet where the military dress is an old top hat and a corncob pipe?

According to him it wasn't just tied to his depressive mood, but more a way for him to talk about serious issues (pollution, death penalty, capitalism, ...) still with a bit of humor.

Anyone who sees this book sold somewhere at a correct price should purchase it immediately.
